Why Magneto warrants a page here

I know what everyone's thinking: "Magneto is a villain!" But let's consider a few things:

  • He has repeatedly worked with the X-Men against threats to Mutantkind
  • He has spent time as a member of the X-Men and in fact was a member of the X-Men fairly recently
  • Stan Lee does not consider him a villain
  • He is supposed to be a morally gray character who can be seen as a hero OR a villain
  • He genuinely wants to protect his race and keep them safe
  • He has his moments of genuine heroism
  • He was chosen by the Beyonder to stand alongside superheroes and worked with the X-Men and other heroes during the conflict. Against the villains.

I rest my case. If we're allowing Kratos (who brought about the end of the world and condemned all life on earth to death to get some lousy revenge), Judge Dredd (a brutal, fascist cop), the Punisher (a merciless exterminator of crimimals), and Venom (a Spider-Man villain) on this wiki, then Magneto deserves a page too. He's no worse than any of those names I just listed.

Also he was a protagonist in a few of the prequel comics, like the ones that show Xavier pre X-Mansion. Personally I think that is the most important thing for straddling that hero villain line, does the story focus on said character attempting to overcome some evil or injustice, that's why folks like Kratos are allowed here too. So seems legit.

But to those that are thinking, "Aw man if Magneto, Kratos, Deadpool and Godzilla are all heroes then I can totally put up a pages on Sephiroth or Lex Luthror." No you can not! Just want to show everyone where the line is. If the character is morally iffy make sure they are at least the protagonists of their own stories, like our good friend Magneto here.

I agree with you!!! Though I haven't read Marvel Zombies, it was mentioned on his article as well in Wikipedia that Magneto is one of the main protagonists of Marvel Zombies!! Too bad he died with honor protecting everyone. I also watched X-Men First Class & he had a protagonist role there too. I was also thinking if we could add Morbius the Living Vampire into this wiki since i saw in Marvel Zombies that he is also one of the main protagonists as well (Swoobatman (talk) 00:42, February 13, 2014 (UTC))

I personally don't consider magneto a villain, but more of a tragic antihero.Kevin125 (talk) 22:59, July 8, 2015 (UTC)

Dr. Magneto and Magneto

It may sound strange, but is Magneto actually a revamp character of Matto Magneto from the Spider-Man TV Show in 1967? Is this correct? ChocolateElemental (talk) 23:41, November 18, 2016 (UTC)
