Jesus Nazareno Asuncion "Tanggol" Montenegro is the titular main protagonist of FPJ's Batang Quiapo, and leader of his own gang in Quiapo, Manila. Whose goal is to change his own life in the true umbrigation of Quiapo life and his life on Manila, though he face many Tests in life and he also wanted to marry his childhood love interest.
he is portrayed by Coco Martin. who previously portrayed Juan Dela Cruz from the series with the same name, and Ador de Leon and Ricardo Dalisay from FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.

In the second season of the TV series, he was recruited by Chief Espinas as an assassin in exchange of the lives of his own friends, if he refuses she would kill them. In the middle of the second season, he managed to save Mokang from his Ramon but she was killed by Olga Montenegro.
Season 3[]
In the third season, Tanggol along with Marcelo will escape the jail but they would be released from the jail and work with him, together they would rule the whole Metro Manila, including the district of Quiapo and will expand his own Gang into a Mafia Organization.
