Tank is a supporting character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He is a male tortoise who appears for first time in episode seventh of season 2 “May the Best Pet Win!”, then he becomes Rainbow Dash’s pet, even if she doesn’t want him at the beginning.
He first appears in "May the Best Pet Win!", Where he wants to compete in the competition to be Rainbow Dash's pet against better birds than him.
As Fluttershy points out, Tank has always wanted a Pony as master, Rainbow Dash reluctantly agrees, because Tank doesn't fly and is slow.
During the game contest, he always gets beaten by all the other birds in every contest but keeps trying even if Rainbow tells him to quit.
Eventually, after the landslide of the final race and Rainbow Dash gets stuck in the gorge with a flattened wing under a rock, he arrives and Rainbow Dash doesn't take him seriously until he digs under the rock and frees her from trouble. It is then that Rainbow Dash accepts that he is his pet, and to make it fly he attaches a propeller to the shell.
