Taranza (in Japanese: タランザ, Taranza) is the secondary antagonist of the 2014 Nintendo 3DS game Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and a later a supporting protagonist in the 2018 Nintendo Switch game Kirby Star Allies.
Appearance[]
Taranza is a spider alien with six hands, brown skin, orange horns with yellow tips, and white hair. He wears a scarf and a green cloth, with gold and red accents, and two silver looking-buttons.
Personality[]
Taranza has a loyal, resourceful, and friendly personality. He is also remorseful about causing Sectonia to became evil because of the Dimension Mirror he gave her.

Origin[]
Many years ago, Taranza was living with his best friend in Floralia. One day she asked him to get her a mirror which turned out to be the Dimension Mirror from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror which ended up corrupting her under the influence of Dark Meta Knight into Queen Sectonia which turned her into a tyrant and caused her to impose a tyrannical rule across Floralia.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[]
He is first seen in the intro when he incapacitates 5 Spear Waddle Dees and kidnaps King Dedede after mistaking him for the hero that will save Floralia, much to Kirby's horror. He breaks out of the roof with Kirby following him up the Dream Stalk.
When he first encounters Kirby in Floral Fields he turns a flower into a sentient tree called Flowery Woods in order to fight him to which Kirby defeats him.
In Lollipop Land, when he encounters Kirby again, he brings a painting that contains Paintra, which turns out to be Drawcia's sister a mentioned in a pause screen description, to life in order to fight Kirby to which he defeats her.
In Old Odyssey, when he encounters Kirby for a third time he brings a cloud to life and summons Kracko to fight Kirby and once again he defeats him.
In Wild World, when Kirby catches up to him for a 4th time, he brings a statue called Coily Rattler to life to fight Kirby but he defeats it too.
In Endless Explosions, he meets Pyribbit and throws a stone at it to provoke it and makes it look like Kirby did it. Kirby then defeats him and continues to follow him.
In Royal Road, when he makes it to Queen Sectonia's castle, he tells Kirby about Queen Sectonia's plan and puppetized King Dedede into Masked Dedede to fight him. When he defeats him, he realizes that Kirby was the hero called by the Dream Stalk. He calls for Queen Sectonia to save him, but she blasts him away instead. After Kirby defeats her twice and traps him in a vine after she fused with the Dream Stalk, he gives Kirby a Miracle fruit to gain the Hypernova copy ability to defeat her. After he defeats her, she explodes, causing Kirby and King Dedede to fall, but Kirby is caught by the people of Floralia he rescued and Taranza rescued King Dedede. After that, he and everyone else saw the Dream Stalk was blooming and it reminded them of Floralia.
He also appears as a rare Keychain and in the secret 100% cutscene.
Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe[]
He appears as one of the unlockable masks and as a puppet moving in the background along with likenesses of King Dedede and Kirby.
Kirby Planet Robobot[]
He appears as a sticker.
Team Kirby Clash Deluxe/Super Kirby Clash[]
He appears as an alternate version called Dark Taranza who was helping King D-Mind escape the Mirror and also appears in the background sitting on top of Magolor's shoppe.
Kirby Star Allies[]
He appears as a playable character and as one of the Dream Friends who can be called on to help Kirby.
Powers and Abilities[]
Flight: Taranza is capable of flying and hovering.
Spider Webs: Taranza can shoot and create webs.
