With the rise of multiple terrorist groups such as the Al-Qatala and Konni, 141 act as a bulwark against these threats.
History[]
Creation[]
Following Roman Barkov's death, Special Air Service Captain John Price decided to form a task force to anyone from trying to fill in the void the Russian general left. After asking for files on potential candidates from General Herschel Shepherd, Price spoke with CIA liaison officer Kate Laswell about his intentions. Initially reluctant to fund "outlaws", she relented when he threatened to leave and explained of Victor Zakhaev's plans to take Barkov's throne. Revealing his candidates - Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, Simon "Ghost" Riley and Johnny "Soap" MacTavish, Price named the task force "141". After the organization's formation, Price, Laswell and Chimera leader Nikolai worked together to deal with the situation in Verdansk.
Call of Duty: Warzone[]
With the war in Verdansk worsening after the Armistice turned on each other, 141 were dispatched to the region to stop Zakhaev from launching a nuclear warhead. Once finding his location in a hidden silo, 141 teamed with Nikolai, Urzikstan Liberation Force leader Farah Karim, former CIA agent Alex Keller and U.S. Marine special unit Demon Dogs to stop Victor. After killing Zakhaev and stopping the launch, Price was contacted Soap on a situation going on off the cost, and heads off with his allies to meet with the sergeant.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II[]
Gathering intel on Quds Force General Ghorbrani performing an arms deal with Russian forces, Ghost and Shadow Company are tasked by Shepherd to eliminate the general. Following the assassination, Ghorbrani's second-in-command Major Hassan Zyani threatens to destroy the United States and partners with the Al-Qatala. With the threat of Zyani, 141 operatives Ghost and Soap perform a joint operation with the MARSOC Marines in Al Mazrah to apprehend the major. While failing to locate Hassan in the region, the teams discover an American ballistic missile inside a warehouse. In Amsterdam, Captain Price, Gaz and Laswell learn of the Al-Qatala's alliance with the Las Almas Cartel, and gather intel that Zyani is being escorted across the American border to Mexico.
After the Los Vaqueros fail to stop Hassan, 141 and Shadow Company join forces with the Mexican Special Forces unit to apprehend the major. Despite the mission's success, the joint teams are forced to let Zyani go to avoid political fallout, but Ghost plants a tracker on the major's phone to hear his conversations. Learning of a smuggling operation in Spain, Price, Gaz and Laswell travel there to locate the missiles. While the trio are in Spain, the joint team capture the cartel's leader, Valeria Garza, and learn through interrogation that one of the missiles is on an oil rig off the Gulf of Mexico. The joint team then perform an assault on the rig, managing to destroy the missile by using the controls to make it launch on the rig itself.
Returning to Mexico, Shadow Company's CEO Phillip Graves betrays 141 and Los Vaqueros on the orders of Shepherd, but Ghost and Soap escape from the area. The duo then worked with Vaqueros officer Rodolfo Parra to rescue the unit's leader Alejandro Vargas and his subordinates, and manage to escape with assistance from Price and Gaz. Following the escape, Price reveals that Shepherd and Graves covered up a failed operation after the American missiles they were sending to their allies were stolen by a Russian paramilitary group. After confronting Shepherd for his actions, Price forms a joint task force with Vaqueros to retake their base and eliminate Graves. The team is successful in retaking the base from the private military company, but unbeknownst to them, Graves escaped by having a tank fight Soap and Rodolfo Parra.
Upon Shadow Company's defeat, the team interrogate Valeria for the location of the third missile, learning that its with Hassan in Chicago, Illinois. Leaving Las Almas, 141 join forces with the MARSOC Marines in Chicago to disarm the missile, and are given authority to kill Hassan. While failing to stop the launch, they disarm the missile before it can hit Washington, D.C. and Ghost kills Hassan before he throws Soap out of a window. After stopping Zyani, Laswell contacts 141 to speak about a new threat, which Price identifies as Vladmir Makarov.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III[]
In 2023, Price is informed of Makarov's escape from the Zordaya Prison Complex, and decides to reassign his team from their current mission to hunt down the terrorist leader. In Urzkistan, 141 are tasked with stopping Konni, a private military company under Makarov's command, from taking a nuclear power plant that is holding chemicals from Bakarov's era. Despite the mission's failure, the task force learn from Laswell that Farah placed trackers on missiles she was receiving from Shadow Company, as they were stolen by Konni during the arrangement. Traveling to an abandoned nuclear complex, the group fail to stop two of the missiles from launching at the Arklov Peak Military Base. Afterward, Ghost and Soap gather intel on one of Konni's safehouse in St. Petersburg after interrogating Milena Romanova, and capture Makarov's second-in-command Andrei Nolan.
Obtaining intel on a cargo transport in Siberia, 141 and Farah ambush the convoy and learn that the high-valued target is General Shepherd. The team then meet with Laswell to give Shepherd an ultimatum - give them intel on Makarov's plans in exchange that he returns to the United States and speaks with Congress. The general agrees to the former and reveals that Konni is planning to flood the Gora Dam to kill citizens in Verdansk, but it's stopped by Soap and Ghost in the knack of time. Following the operation, 141 join forces with the ULF and Shadow Company to assault a Konni base where Makarov is supposedly located. While Price wants to confirm the terrorist leader's death, Shepherd refuses and has Makarov labeled killed-in-action.
With Makarov's presumed death, 141 watches Shepherd and Graves betray each other about the situation in Las Almas, and are informed of Konni's presence in London. Fearing of another terrorist attack, the task force perform a joint operation with the Metropolitan Police Service and gather intel that Makarov is planning on controlling London's train network. The team fail to stop Makarov from controlling the trains, but fight their way through the Channel Tunnel to defuse a bomb. Inside the tunnels, Makarov ambushes Price and Soap, resulting in the death of the latter before the terrorist leader escapes. Price manages to defuse the bomb before it detonates, and later attends Soap's funeral with Gaz and Ghost. After Price assassinated Shepherd for his betrayal, 141 are still on a hunt to find and kill Makarov to avenge Soap.
