~ Taylor. |
Taylor is a reincarnation of Tanya Clarke and one of the five main protagonists of the second installment of Supermassive Games' The Dark Pictures Anthology Series, Little Hope.
She is the student of John, the classmate of Andrew and Angela, and the girlfriend of Daniel.
Taylor is voiced and motion-captured by Caitlyn Sponheimer, who also voices and motion-captures Tanya Clarke. Sponheimer also portrays April in April in Autumn and Myra in The Sisterhood.
Biography[]
Taylor is first seen after the bus crashes in Little Hope. At first, she desires to stay at the bus crash site but reluctantly follows the group into the town. They meet Vince at a bar and follow the road to a covered bridge, where they split up, Daniel and Taylor going one way and Angela, Andrew and John going another. The two walk through a playground, where they encounter Mary and then Daniel enters an abandoned store while Taylor goes around. After that, the group meets up at the police station. They then get separated at a broken down bridge where Daniel and Taylor witness the group on the other side of the bridge get attacked by a demon. The duo escape into the woods and eventually pass through a witchcraft museum and into a neighborhood under construction. There, Taylor's demon attacks and chases them to a church where they meet up with Andrew and John. The group then takes refuge inside the church where they then decide to escape when Daniel and Taylor's demons attack. They flee into the woods where they can possibly meet up with Angela.
They follow the road to the old Little Hope factory where Daniel is attacked by his demon, but can possibly escape. The group then reaches the burned down Clarke House, where they take refuge inside. Andrew and another protagonist will go upstairs to confront Mary one last time. At the end of the game, if Mary is executed or Taylor has any locked traits, she will be killed by her demon in the Clarke House. If she survived the night, she will accompany the group out of Little Hope and possibly watch as Andrew is arrested, at this point, shown to be a hallucination of the bus driver.
Personality[]
Taylor is shown to be fearful as she was afraid when the fog forced her and the group to keep moving forward and when her demon attacks. She can also be shown as brave, fighting off her demon by herself at one point. She has a sensitive side as she can be defensive towards Angela prodding for information about her relationship. In that defensive state, she's often belligerent and irrational such as denying her relationship with Daniel to keep it a secret or constantly judging John's leadership attempts.
Like the other protagonists, Taylor represents one of Anthony's deceased family members. Taylor represents Anthony's late sister, Tanya. Taylor embodies Tanya's independent and headstrong attitude, constantly wishing to breakaway from the group and escape on her own with or without her boyfriend, Daniel (Similar to Tanya with Vince). But she also represents Tanya's insecurities of isolation and her struggle with belonging as she frequently vents those insecurities to Daniel. By the end of the story, Anthony subconsciously reconciles the person his sister was either condemning her or absolving her. Taylor either loses to her demon and dies selfish and belligerent, or overcomes her demon and emerges outgoing and supportive.
