The story of an charismatic and amicable street brawler Terry Bogard from SNK universe.
Early Life[]
Terry was born in South Town, US, and was trained by his father Jeff Bogard, a renowned fighter, since an early age. When he was ten, Terry witnessed the murder of his father by the hands of the evil Geese Howard, as Jeff was the only person capable of preventing Geese from taking over the city. Terry and his brother Andy left South Town with the purpose of training and be one day able to exact their revenge against Geese.
Fatal Fury series[]
Fatal Fury[]
A decade later the two brothers, now seasoned fighters, return to South Town to participate in a competition called "The King of Fighters". Joined by their newfound friend Joe Higashi, the trio fights their way through several opponents, but only Terry manages to reach the finals. There he discovers that his last opponent is none other than Geese Howard himself. The ensuing battle is fierce, but Terry is the one that lands the final blow, knocking Geese out of his tower and leaving him to his doom, obtaining his long-awaited revenge. With the tournament now over, the trio parts and each goes on their individual journey.
Fatal Fury 2[]
A year later, Terry receives a mysterious invitation to the next "The King of Fighters" tournament. As Geese is presumed to be dead, he wonders who the host could be. Regardless, he could never step back from such a challenge and enters the tournament alongside his old teammates. Just like the previous edition, Terry reaches the end and finds himself against Wolfgang Krauser, Geese's half-brother.
The two siblings had been sworn enemies for years, and Krauser was finally ready to end their feud, but such chance was suddenly snatched from him him. Terry was now the only worthy opponent left, and Krauser was craving to prove himself the best in the world. However, not even him could take down the Hungry Wolf, who ended up with another victory added to his record.
Fatal Fury 3[]
Some time after the second tournament, suspicious rumors start spreading in South Town. Geese Howard was apparently back from the grave, and he brought with him certain scrolls that are said to grant immortality. Unable to let this run, Terry comes back to investigate. He and finds himself hurled the middle of a war for the ownership of the scrolls, involving the mysterious Jin brothers, the wicked Yamazaki and, of course, Geese Howard.
Terry fails in retrieving the scrolls, which fall into his nemesis's hands. Still, he at least succeeded in restoring a temporary peace in South Town. Along the way, Terry meets his future fianceè Blue Mary and befriends a lone boy with blonde hair.
Real Bout Fatal Fury[]
The battle for the scrolls had ended, but another challenge was waiting around the corner. Eager to demonstrate his superiority over anyone and have his payback on Terry, Geese hosts a third tournament. Old and new competitors made their appearance, driven by the thrill of the fight and the desider to proclaim themselves the best of the best. Terry, unstoppable as always, makes it to the end.
As if wanted by fate, Terry and Geese once again face each other at the top of the Geese Tower. Even the outcome is the same as before: Terry's Power Geyser triumphs over Geese's Raging Storm, causing him to be sent outside of the balcony. This time Terry manages to grasp Geese's hands, in a desperate attempt to save him and not repeat his past mistake. Still, Geese's heart is too proud to accept help from his archenemy, and lets himself meet his ultimate end.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves[]
Following the fated battle, Geese left behind a son, Rock Howard, the same kid that Terry had met while searching for the Jin scrolls. Rock was completely orphaned, since Geese had also refused to pay for the cures Rock's mother needed to recover from a lethal illness. Terry decided to adopt and raise him as his own son, not wanting to cause Rock to experience the same childhood he was forced to have because of Geese.
Ten years pass peacefully, then one day a new "The King of Fighters" tournament is held. Terry and Rock receive a personal invitation, which also informs them that Rock's mother was apparently still alive. The only way to know the truth, was reaching the finals. Despite fighting with his usual drive, Terry is defeated by his pupil. Rock eventually defeats the host, Kain R. Heinlein, and goes him into the unknown. Understanding that Rock needs to learn the truth on his own, Terry accepts his departure. With a gloomy heart, but full of hopes in the future, Terry follows Blue Mary to a new adventure.
Garou: City of the Wolves[]
Following his epic encounter with archrival Geese Howard, he takes young Rock under his wing, and the two are inseparable—until the events of a fateful tournament compel them to go their separate ways. Terry battles it out on the streets for several years thereafter, but when word of an upcoming martial arts tournament—“KOF”—reaches him, he realizes that another path with destiny awaits.
The King of Fighters[]
In The King of Fighters series, SNK used Terry's background story of Fatal Fury 1-2, in that after he had defeated Geese and Krauser, he received an invitation to enter a new team fighting tournament called The King of Fighters '94. Since then, Terry has been in many installments as team captain of Team Fatal Fury. Though the team's roster has changed through the years, Terry has always been present, and is notable as one of the few characters to appear in every King of Fighters game thus far. He also has a former rivalry with Ryo which is mostly exclusive to this series.
His possible death was played on during The King of Fighters '99 where he stayed behind in the collapsing NESTS's base. He didn't contact with any of his friends or loved ones until a year later. In his time of absence, Terry tracked down NESTS's men who were targeting Mary. He decides to help her out in her job by teaming up with her in the 2000 and 2001 tournaments.
He organizes his teams with various members in the following years, being the one to ask Tizoc in 2003 and Duck King into the team for KOF XI. To catch up and to reunite the legendary trio of Southtown, he joins up with his brother and Joe once more in KOF XIII. Before their meeting, he had to bears a long journey back to the city and fell asleep at the station. He calls up Mary to give him a ride to Paopao Cafe, and he cheerfully arrives over 30 minutes late.
His tardiness and usual attitude for any tournament upsets Joe, who knows that he and Andy have their own responsibilities besides the tournament. Although Terry doesn't understand why his friend is upset, he has a sparring match with him in Paopao Cafe.
Knowing that his fan, Alice, and Geese will be participating the new tournament, Terry joins to oversee her progress and to keep an eye on Geese.

Terry: The Journey[]
While he is waiting for a train crossing on his motorbike, Terry introduces himself as the man who likes to travel. Terry then explains that he wanted to "traveling to new places, experiencing new things, meeting new faces and having good fights", with the added "bonus" of finding a good place to eat. This is because Terry believes that "life isn't something to throw away".
Terry later arrived to Metro City after he learns that a new branch of Pao Pao Cafe is about to be open. As he walked along the alley of Metro City Downtown, he encountered his old friend and rival Ken who he hasn't seen for 20 years. Ken notices Terry and greets him back, albeit with a rather tired voice. This, along with Ken's outfit, led Terry to assume that Ken has somehow went bankrupt, to which Ken simply responded with a sigh. Terry then assures to Ken that he's happy to see him again, and asking for a fight to "celebrate" their reunion.
After the fight, Terry notices that Ken doesn't seem to be in his typical fiery mood, as he describe how Ken's usual "red hot" attacks are now "a little bit soggy". Ken then apologizes to Terry for "disappointing" him, admitting that he has "a lot on (his) mind" that he can't focus on the fight. Terry comforts Ken and reassuring Ken that his "flame" (i.e. fighting spirit) hasn't died out yet, and that he believes that Ken will "rise from the ashes" of whatever that has troubled him. While admitting that he doesn't want to interfere with whatever Ken is going through, Terry encourages Ken to fight on, as he's always ready to give him "the fight of a lifetime". Energized from his rival's words, Ken stands up and compliments Terry for being a "good guy" and keeps on living his life the best that he could. Terry is glad that Ken seems to be able to bring back his old self, as Ken handed his baseball cap back. The two hot-blooded fighters then promise each other to bring "extra hot stuff" the next time they meet and then they bid farewell.
In the ending scene, Terry is enjoying his meal at the Metro City Pao Pao Cafe. Terry describes how his simple life goal of "fight, eat, drink, sleep" is a "good life", and that he is looking forward to his new journey.
