Jonathan Sims, also known as The Archivist, is the main protagonist of horror podcast The Magnus Archives. He was the Head Archivist of The Magnus Institute, taking over from his predecessor Gertrude Robinson, and was tasked with sorting out decades of statements of supposed paranormal sightings. As time passed, however, Jonathan discovered that his role was involved in a disturbing web of paranormal fear.
He is voiced by the series creator, Jonathan Sims, with which he shares his name

While initially recording statements, Jon put up a veneer of scepticism about their validity, being aware that he was being observed by something. Indeed, every statement that he recorded was what he believed was true. He also did not deny a statement's validity when he came across a Leitner book.

Appearance[]
Jonathan Sims's full appearance is never fully described, however some characters do mention details about him. Sims mentions he has prematurely greying hair, looking like he hasn't slept in a week, and generally looking older than his actual age.
Over time, he gains several scars from his encounters with the Avatars.
