The Captain is the leader of the Nilian crew of Spaceship Dave Ming-Chang in the movie Meet Dave.
He is portrayed by Eddie Murphy, who also played Donkey from the Shrek franchise, Norbit Albert Rice and Mr. Wong in Norbit, Prince Akeem Joffer in Coming to America, Sherman Klump in the Nutty Professor films and Mushu in Mulan.
The Captain highly resembles the spaceship is the de facto Nilian number 1 of the spaceship. The Captain is leading his fellow Nilians in finding an orb that fell on Earth earlier their arrival. The orb can suck the oceans of a water planet which in turn can provide a solution to their homeworld Nil's energy crisis. The Captain came across with Josh Morrison and Gina Morrison, with the later bumping the Nilian's human-like spaceship. The Captain became preoccupied with the two and Number 2, took control of the ship and ejected the captain and Number 3 from the spaceship. Number two continued the search for the orb while causing significant damage to the spaceship's pathway. The Captain and Number 3 eventually took back control of the spaceship. In the end, the Captain asked for Number 3 if she will marry him. Number 3 accepts and kisses with the captain
