The Female also known as (The Female of Species) is one of the three tritagonists in the highly controversial adult comic book series The Boys, she also appears as a posthmous character in The Boys: Dear Becky.
History[]
In the comic series, she is known as The Female of the Species and is an original member of the Boys. She is selectively mute, however, and acts as the muscle of the group along with the Frenchman (Frenchie). She was born in Japan, where her mother worked for a company in Tokyo that was considered the Japanese equivalent of Vought-American. Being too cheap to hire a babysitter, her mother kept her under her desk at work. One day, the baby Female crawled into a laboratory and fell into a pot of Compound V waste, giving her superhuman strength and an urge to kill. After killing the scientist that discovered her, she was captured and kept in a cage, while her blood was frequently extracted in order to study the effects of Compound V on humans. After several failed escape attempts, she was rescued by Billy Butcher and the Boys, and subsequently recruited. Her desire to kill had not gone away, however, so when she is not satisfied with her kills with the Boys, she works for the local Mafia.
Personality[]
The Female could best be described as mute, brutal and unpredictable, due to the years of abuse and imprisonment she was force to endure.
The Female was danger to everyone except Frenchie, who is implied to be the first person to treat her with kindness and starts to form a bond with him. After she flees and Frenchie gets attacked by Black Noir in an alley, Kimiko intervenes and saves his life, showing she had come to care for him.
After this, she seems to become significantly calmer and while still dangerous and unstable, she does not appear to have an involuntary compulsion to kill people, and acts more personable towards the rest of the group. Kimiko has shown to be capable of following instructions like a valid part of the team, whether it's beating batter in making French pastries to acting as Hughie's backup and breaking A-Train's leg with a pipe at the right time.

- There are some elements in the Female's origin that are obvious nods to the French comic Asterix and Obelix, which tells the story of Gaulish warriors who gain temporary superhuman strength and speed by drinking a magical potion. The scientist who discovered and was later killed by the the Female is called doctor Uderzo, which is a reference to Albert Uderzo, the co-creator of Asterix and Obelix. The Female obtaining her powers from accidentally falling into a vat of V is also a nod to the comics, with one of the main characters named Obelix receiving permanent super strength by accidentally falling into a cauldron of magic potion.
