The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat is the main protagonist of the Android and iOS video game Very Little Nightmares.
Biography[]
Very Little Nightmares[]
The game begins at The Nest; a large mansion perched on a clifftop that is owned by a self-centred mistress called The Pretender. The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat had crashed her hot air balloon into the highest floor of The Nest and sought to escape the premises after having a nightmare about being trapped within a shed. As she begins her descent, she briefly comes across another girl in her undergarments who is also trying to escape through an alternate route.
The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat soon enters a room full of cages where she spots a caged child being dragged away by a lanky, wheelchair-bound craftsman. The girl was able to free another caged child in the room who helped her proceed through a jammed door and into an area monitored by glowing eyes. Sneaking her way passed the watchful eyes, The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat finds rooms containing various materials (presumably harvested from the imprisoned kids) that The Craftsman constructs dolls from before encountering the doll maker himself washing some skin. The girl manages to avoid The Craftsman long enough to make him look for her elsewhere while she continued through the halls of The Nest and takes an elevator down to a lower floor.
The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat soon faces more dangers as she had to pass a landfill that was home to a lurking Dump Monster and also crosses paths with The Nest's telekinetic butler as he performs his tasks of cleaning and delivering dolls to his mistress; The Pretender. Eventually The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat was able to finally reach the mansion's exterior but is caught fleeing by The Butler who gave her chase. She dodged many obstacles that were telekinetically pushed towards her when she came across the girl in undergarments and began working with her to escape The Butler's pursuit.
The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat managed to barricade herself inside a shed only to encounter The Pretender while trying to leave through the shed's back entrance. She quickly climbs down a cliff as The Pretender follows after her while also saving the girl in undergarments when she falls from a collapsing path. Unfortunately, The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat is soon cornered on a lower cliff's edge and is almost caught by The Pretender when the girl in undergarments pushes a rock on top of her, stopping the pursuer in their tracks. However, The Pretender still had enough energy for one last attack which knocks her and The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat into the sea below where they presumably drown. Despite the game ending on this tragic note, the protagonist's actions allowed the girl in undergarments (now believed to be Six) to escape The Nest.
Trivia[]
- The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat reuses Six's audio from Little Nightmares.
