The Huntsman (Japanese ソードマスター "Swordmaster") is a veteran hunter and member of the First Fleet that lives in Astera.
Personality[]
The Huntsman, who has been hunting for forty years, is still skilled and maybe a little set in his ways. He can come across as a prickly old guy since he stubbornly holds onto his old suit of Blademaster Rathian armor and, like Admiral, ignores modern developments like slingers and scoutflies which he disputes.
However, his experience and bravery are undeniable. He enjoys hunting and believes in the spirit of competition, considering the opportunity to test one's abilities against deserving opponents as priceless. He respects the most formidable of monsters for the opportunity they offer for self-improvement.
Background[]
The Huntsman's armor has dents and gashes from a battle with a Teostra. As a member of the First Fleet, he arrived in the New World forty years ago and has been hunting ever since. He has a pleasant recollection of the encounter and views Teostra as both an old friend and an old enemy. He trained the Field Team Leader and many of the hunters of the Fourth Fleet during that period. The Admiral and the Handler's grandfather were two of his friends and adversaries.
Appearance[]
He is dressed in a sash bearing the First Fleet's emblem and an older pair of Blademaster Rathian Armor. The Wyvern Blade "Leaf" is his weapon of choice.
