The Pouges are main protagonists of the Netflix TV Show Outer Banks.
They are a group of teenage boys located in the southern part of the Outer Banks Island, The Cut, led by John B, whose father was looking for the Royal Merchant with the gold inside. They are pacifists who love nature, but also a little violent and aggressive, thirsty for adventure to have fun.
Background[]
The group's name, "Pogues", comes from a type of disposable fish that are found very low in the food chain that as John B, the group's leader, says, are used to catch bigger fish. John B, in addition to being the leader, is also one of the two founders, alongside one of his best friends, JJ Maybank, who have known each other since third grade, to also bring together Pope Heyward and a kook who became a member of the group, Kiara Carrera. They are joined by another Kook who became a Pouge, Sarah Cameron. Then again a new Pouge called Cleo Anderson joins the group.
The group is ignored and neglected by everyone, and are in constant rivalry with another group similar to theirs: the Kooks, who target them and try to prove that they are better than them. They, unlike the Kooks, love and respect nature and love to live peacefully (even if not always).
The group occasionally has serious problems with romantic relationships that are considered illegal and test the friendships between the group members, they all continue to be great friends loyal and benevolent.
Their main goal is to have fun all summer to have a good life, but the real goal is to find the Royal Merchant with the gold inside and find out what happened to John B's father, John Routledge.
In their adventures they also find a high-profile shipwreck with 400 million dollars of gold.
