The Seven Archons, also known simply as The Seven, are major characters in the 2020 action role-playing fantasy video game Genshin Impact.
The Seven were a collection of seven gods who each presided over one of the seven nations of the land of Teyvat and one of the seven elements. Though their positions were delegated by the Heavenly Principles, the Seven felt no strong fealty to Celestia and were mostly benevolent to mortals. In the modern era their membership consisted of the Anemo Archon Barbatos, the Geo Archon Morax, the Electro Archon Beelzebul, the Dendro Archon Buer, the Hydro Archon Furina de Fontaine, the Pyro Archon Mavuika, and the Cryo Archon.
Story[]
Prologue[]
In the Prologue the player helps Barbatos fight of the corrupted dragon Dvalin. Afterward his Gnosis is stolen by La Signora, a Mondstadter serving the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya.
Act 1[]
In the first act the Traveler witnesses the "Death" of Morax, but in the confusion, the Traveler gets arrested. Morax later helps the Traveler. After the conflict with Tartaglia and Osial is resolved, Morax willingly gives his Gnosis to La Signora as part of a contract.
Act 2[]
In the second act the Traveler arrives at Inazuma in search of Raiden Shogun, but is caught up on the civil war. After Thoma is captured, the Traveler fight the Shogun, but is beaten and forced to retreat. Later, after practicing with Yae Miko, the Traveler fight and defeats La Signora. The Shogun kills La Signora and rematches the Traveler. After being beaten by the Traveler, she changes her views and becomes more friendly towards the Traveler.
Act 3[]
In the third act the Traveler first meets the dendro archon Buer in a repeating dream. After escaping the dream, Buer is captured by Il Dottore, and thus the Traveler tries to safe Buer. After having beaten Scaramouche, the Traveler is rendered unconscious by Il Dottore. in exchange for information and being spared, Buer exchanges both her own Gnosis as well as the Shogun's (which was in possession of Scaramouche).
Act 4[]
Upon arriving in Fontaine the Traveler is almost immediately greeted by Furina de Fontaine, who challenges the Traveler in a courtduel. Deciding to help Lyney Snezhevich clear his name for a murder he didn't commit, the Traveler successfully beats Furina in court. Later the Traveler once again challenges Furina to court in order to figure out the truth of what she's hiding. It is revealed that Furina is merely a vessel for the true Archon, Focalors. Neuvillette talks to Focalor within the Oratrice Mechanique d'Analyse Cardinale, where it is revealed she had to trick Celestia. After successfully tricking them, she commits suicide, destroying the seat of Hydro Archon altogether. The Gnosis is passed on to Neuvillette, which he passes on to Arlecchino as a diplomatic gift.
Act 5[]
During the Pilgrimage, we meet the current pyro archon of Natlan, Mavuika. After when the winners of the pilgrimage came back from the Night Kingdom, Kachina was missing. Mavuika used all of her power to try to save Kachina, she let the Traveler, Mualani, Chasca, and Iansan to go into the Night Kingdom to get Kachina back. While then, Mavuika fights with Capitano so that Capitano can use the gnosis to save Natlan as both have their own ways of saving Natlan. Before Mavuika could deal another attack on him, Ororon throws a smoke bomb and causes him to escape. After Kachina was saved, Mavuika tells them that Natlan has less than a year for total destruction. So they begin for a war with Natlan and the Abyss. Citlali informs the Traveler that her plan could lead to her death since the rules of pyro and it's gnosis are related to Ronova (the shade of death). So, the Traveler talks to Mavuika about this and she has her own ways. Then when the war broke out, everyone fought. The Heroes of Natlan: Xilonen, Mualani, Kinich, Ororon, Chasca, and Iansan all use the power of the ancient heroes so that Mavuika can use that power to defeat the abyss. But because of using the power of Ronova, it came at a huge price. Mavuika did destroy the abyss in Natlan's Surface, but because of the strength aswell, it revealed the real sky of teyvat which caused some remains of a moon to enter Teyvat. Mavuika needs the Traveler to come along her into the depths of the night kingdom to finish the abyss once and for all, but her path of death still remains an issue though. TBC on Chapter V Act V.
