~ The Soldier to the Globex Leader in The Final Showdown, his most famous quote. |
“ | Hahahah, take some of this!. | „ |
~ The Soldier shooting the Globex Soldiers in the original game. |
The Player, also known as the Soldier, is the main protagonist of Strike Force Heroes and its 2023 remastered version.
He is a skilled soldier who, together with his team, the heroic Alpha Squad, made up of Toad, Riggs, Shadow and Bull, seek to stop a dangerous toxin that is affecting several soldiers of the organization with the help of a scientist who works on the cure, however, a secret global organization is constantly trying to eliminate them and also wants to stop the virus, but with evil purposes.
He was voiced by Sean Chiplock, who also voiced most of the male characters in the whole series,
Appearance[]
The player had many designs throughout both games.
In the cutscenes of the original flash game and in Under Siege, he is always represented as a young commando-class soldier who uses the basic weapons, when he was not using the mask of his helmet, he was an adult man who is barely in his 30s, obviously this changes in the gameplay, where the player can choose any of the four classes (Assassin, Medic, Commando or Tank) to play the campaign levels and make different unique combinations with his weapons and abilities.
In the remastered game this aspect changes a lot, in the cutscenes, the player's appearance is always hidden (while he's on scene) to not contradict his appearance in the gameplay and there are more exclusive suits, such as the yellow laboratory suit that he uses to enter the laboratory with Riggs and the pilot suit that he wears in the last levels of the campaign, the player has more options to customize his look to his preference.
Personality[]
The soldier, in the original game, is a brave, skilled, charismatic and noble warrior at heart. Not much is known about his past despite being an experienced soldier who is respected by his men, but he has proven to be very hard-working and dedicated to his work. He often makes jokes about his enemies when he has control of the situation, he does not fight out of resentment, he simply decides to be direct and complete the missions efficiently (and preferably quickly).
He also isn't someone who pays too much attention to minor details, since he knows his allies quite superficially (for example, he never knew the name of the scientist), but he cares about them and is responsible for maintaining the common well-being of the people he protects. He is someone who is attentive to the comments of his team and thanks to listening to them, he has been able to have an advantage on the different missions. Furthermore, he is responsible for always keeping teamwork, since when they were in trouble, he made sure that everyone found a solution or alternative.
But also, the soldier has a more serious and alert side when he is in situations of major risk, in all his fights with the infected, he always acted reservedly and avoided laughing at the situations due to the great threat that facing soldiers with such a toxin meant, and even in one of these fights he tells Bull to concentrate on the mission and not on what the infected were, this side can also be seen when he worked on the nuke's cables and, above all, when he fought against the Globex Leader, who threatened him with killing everyone, in Strike Force Heroes: Remastered, he is a much more expressionless character and a "man of few words", since most of his quotes in the original gameplay were carried over to the rest of the Alpha Squad, but even so, he still had a strong will and great ability to face various threats, such as different enemies or dangerous places.
Synopsis[]

Two weeks before a mysterious assault on a secret research facility, the player and his team, known as the Alpha Squad, are sent to eliminate a group of rebels hiding in an abandoned village. 4 - Siege Under[]
The player hears an explosion nearby and plans to investigate what happened as soon as Shadow arrives with the chopper, both arrive at the facility under attack and Shadow leaves the player in place, wishing him success in the mission, the player arrives through the ducts to the room where the Scientist was fighting with the unknown soldiers, the scientist has no idea who he is but asks him for help and they both defeat the enemy soldiers, after the fight, the player interrogates the scientist, asking what happened to his men, the scientist explains that they were developing a nerve toxin in the facility, but something went very wrong, as instead of shutting down all the subject's brain activity except for the reptilian region, the subject is unable to feel pain and exhibits extreme aggression towards anything that comes close to him, the scientist tells the player that they have no idea how the toxin spreads so quickly and that a cure can only be made with an enzyme from a specific plant, but they must hurry as the organization that sent the enemy soldiers also knows this.
5 - The Cure[]
The Alpha Squad deploys through the abandoned village to look for the plants, Riggs tells the player that he heard something and the player tells the team to be alert to find the plants, shortly after, they are ambushed by the unknown soldiers, after having defeated the enemy group, the player interrogates one of the soldiers, he answers that the only thing he knows is that they were going to steal the same plants.
6 - Intelligence[]
The Alpha Squad breaks into their enemies' operations headquarters to obtain the Intel, Toad analyzes the intel and discovers the organization to which the soldiers belong, Globex, and Bull answers that he does not like that name because it sounds global, the heroes review the files on the computer and find a video of a member of Globex saying that the headquarters must be destroyed since the toxin cannot continue expanding.
7 - Tropic Thunder[]
Globex attacks the cave island again to destroy the research facility, the player tells his team that they must stop them since they need the cure and a Globex soldier orders his team to continue the assault, finally the Alpha Squad stops the Globex forces again.
8 - Hide and Seek[]
The player tells Bull that they must protect the facility from the infected inside, Bull asks the player if these monsters are zombies, but the player tells him to stay alert, because no matter what they are, they are very dangerous, the player and Bull manage to secure the facility so that the scientist can work on the cure.
9 - The Return[]
The Alpha Squad returns to the Globex barracks to obtain the remaining information in the main terminal, the Globex soldiers activate their landmines against the heroes, the heroes continue to advance, and the enemy soldiers request immediate reinforcements but the Alpha Squad surpasses them again, the heroes check the central terminal again and discover Globex's secret plan, they seek to drop a bomb to destroy the island and the entire country.
10 - Plan B[]
Globex seeks to launch a missile at a train to prevent the infection from spreading, the Alpha Squad heads there, the heroes stop the Globex soldiers temporarily.
11 - On Rails[]
The train with the missile starts moving and more Globex agents arrive, the player says that they must stop the train, Toad says that they could stop it if they find some control panel, Riggs discovers that the brakes were destroyed and that they can no longer stop the train, but the player tells them to keep looking, since there must be something to stop the train from launching, but it is useless, as the missile flies straight into the atmosphere, the scientist talks to the player, telling him that he can replace the missile's warhead with the cure.
12 - Boarding Action[]
Shadow takes the player on top of the plane, and he tells him to follow the missile, Shadow informs him that the radar detects many enemy planes, the player eliminates many Globex soldiers who were trying to destroy the plane, when they are already close to the missile, Shadow tells the player that he will have to jump.
13 - One Final Effort[]
The player parachutes onto the missile, he talks to Shadow about the mission to replace the missile's warhead with the cure and Shadow just hopes that he knows what he is doing, Shadow tells the player to be careful not to damage the missile's guidance system and the player tells him that it is not brain surgery, but simply rocket science, the player opens the part of the missile where the cables are and asks him which cable to cut, the red or the green one and Shadow, very randomly tells him to cut the green one and surprisingly works.
14 - The Final Showdown[]
After the hard battle, the player must fight one last time against the Globex Leader (the mysterious figure who spoke in the video found in Intelligence) while they fight, the leader tells him that the missile will make the virus disappear from the face of the earth (killing the infected and innocent people) the player confronts him about what he said since millions will die, the leader asks him in a mocking way who is to blame, but the player answers that he and his team have only tried to cure the infection, the leader tells him It's no so simple, since things are not as they seem (possibly referring to the scientist), just as the fight was going to end, the leader tries to stop the player from escaping so that he dies with him, but the player activates the parachute and tells him his famous quote, leaving the leader to die and causing the explosion to expand the cure, saving all the infected, and the country.

Trivia[]
- In a version of the first game, the player's default name was Justin, obviously being a reference to Justin Goncalvez, one of the two creators of Sky9Games and the Strike Force Heroes saga.
- Some of the nicknames given to the Soldier by the fans are: Commander, SF Commander, Captain, Strike Force Soldier, etc.
- One of the most interesting changes in Strike Force Heroes: Remastered, is the fact that all agents of the Alpha Squad have the quotes that were originally the player's.
- This was probably done so that the other members could have more prominence in the story, since the player spoke a lot throughout the campaign of the classic game, leaving his allies as his simple helpers.
- The blue and black suit that Wesley wears in the final mission of the second game is a clear reference to the Commando suit that the player had in the cutscenes.
- Also, some fans theorized that the soldier was Wesley, but this was quickly ruled out due to the simple fact that Wesley was called a "rookie", while the Soldier was called "Sir" at all times.
