The Stork is the overarching protagonist in the Yoshi's Island series, first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. He is a white bird who brined Baby Mario and Baby Luigi at their home form their parents.
In the prologue, while Stork is preparing to give birth to the two Mario twins to take them to their respective parents, he is attacked by Kamek who wants to kidnap the newborns before they mature to cause problems for the Koopas. Kamek manages to kidnap Baby Luigi and Stork by himself. Luckily, Yoshi comes to save them, defeating Baby Bowser, and so The Stork brings the babies to their parents.

Yoshi's Island DS[]
The stork is not only helping the Baby Mario Brothers, but also Baby Donkey Kong, Baby Peach, Baby Wario, and Baby Bowser. The stork is more of a major character in this game as he is shown traveling with the babies in cut-scenes, and he helps even more by bringing babies to Stork Stops. In the end, more than one stork are seen; several storks carry the babies.
