Stelle/Caelus (Chinese:星/穹), also known as the Trailblazer, is the main protagonist and playable character of the 2023 science fantasy turn-based tactical role-playing video game Honkai: Star Rail.
The Trailblazer is a synthetic being with no memory of their past, selected by Kafka and the Stellaron Hunters to be the receptable in which a Stellaron is sealed away. Upon gaining consciousness abroad the Herta Space Station, they joined the Nameless of the Astral Express to travel the cosmos. The Trailblazer had currently visited four worlds, including the Space Station: Jarilo-IV, the Xianzhou Luofu, and Penacony.
Caelus is voiced by Qin Qiege in Chinese, Caleb Yen in English, Enoki Junya in Japanese, and Kim Myung-jun in Korean while Stelle is voiced by Chen Tingting in Chinese, Rachael Chau in English, Yui Ishikawa in Japanese, and Kim Ha-ru in Korean.
Biography[]
It is hinted that the Trailblazer was friends with Kafka and a former member of the Stellaron Hunters who served Elio. At some point, the Trailblazer had their memories wiped by Kafka.
When Kafka and Silver Wolf stole the Stellaron from the Herta Space Station and chose the Trailblazer's human form, Kafka placed the Stellaron into their body before leaving them to be found by Dan Heng and March 7th. After dealing with the events on Herta Space Station, they choose to join the Astral Express to learn more about themselves and stop the Stellarons.
Appearance[]
The Trailblazer takes the resemblance of human with silver, grey hair and gold eyes. The male Trailblazer, Caelus, wears a light gray t-shirt, black pants, and a black long-sleeved jacket. The female Trailblazer, Stelle, wears a white inner shirt, a black short-sleeved jacket, and a black tight skirt. Both genders maintain the same clothing color palette and aesthetic.
Personality[]
When in battle, the Trailblazer is intense and passionate. It has been noted through their ultimate animations that Caelus (male) seems to have a more aggressive outward demeanor in battle, while Stelle (female) seems to be colder and more indifferent.
The Trailblazer's personality outside of battle is dependent on the player's own choices, but there are basic trends they can swing between. Their personality ranges from being composed and serious, humorous, sarcastic, lazy, pessimistic, hot-blooded, and so on. When the player interacts with the Trailblazer from the perspective of another character, they appear to be reticent, simply staring back without saying anything. Other characters interpret this as them just preferring not to talk. Due to the variety of interactions the player can perform in the game, they will often do questionable things like checking trash cans or wandering around aimlessly.
Due to their amnesia, they question themselves and their past.
It is hinted that the Trailblazer has romantic feelings for Firefly, having met her in Penacony and going on two "dates" with her, plus an additional third date with an artificial reconstruction of her personality based on her memories.
Powers and Abilities[]
In general, the Trailblazer's abilities are derived from whichever Aeons have recognized their talent and glanced at them, allowing them to receive power as a Pathstrider, so long as they are actively following the tenets of that Aeon's Path. They have innate power due to the Stellaron sealed within them, although they are currently unable to harness it without endangering their own life.
- Destruction: The Trailblazer has an enhanced baseball. Receiving power from a glance of Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction, they swing the bat against multiple enemies with great force.
- Preservation: The Trailblazer receives a flaming lance after being stabbed in the final battle in Belobog and gaining the gaze of Qlipoth, the Aeon of Preservation. With the lance, they can drive themselves forward to pierce an enemy, resulting in a large explosion. Afterwards, they use it to defend their allies from enemy attacks.
- Harmony: The Trailblazer inherits the legacy of the Watchmaker, a Nameless hero who founded Penacony, along with his hat. In the final confrontation, they receive power from Xipe's gaze, the Aeon of Harmony. They can throw their hat at enemies and perform a dance (ft. the Watchmaker's fictional character, Clockie) to synchronize their allies and increase damage.
