I... NO LONGER BELIEVE IN THE DALEK MISSION!
~ The Traitor Dalek to the Thirteenth Doctor

[[File:|thumb|380x380px]] The Traitor Dalek (or "Spy Dalek") was a Dalek who betrayed it's own kind and attempted to help the Thirteeth Doctor during the Master's Dalek plan, but he ultimately failed.

He was voiced by famous veteran Dalek voice actor Nicholas Briggs, who has voiced countless Daleks over the years.

History[]

The Traitor Dalek firmly believed that the creation of the Daleks was meant to protect the Kaled race, but that the Daleks had fallen too far from that purpose. It secretly contacted the Thirteenth Doctor to reveal their plans, unaware that it (along with the Thirteenth Doctor) was being manipulated by the other Daleks to bring the Doctor to them. Upon arriving, the Traitor Dalek willingly allowed the Doctor to copy information from its casing before three other Daleks, including their commander, arrived in force and brutally killed the traitor, who was unable to fight back.

After the Traitor Dalek mutant himself inside his own casing had died, the other Daleks then forcibly imprisoned the Doctor in its casing and took her to 1916 to meet with the Spy Master. The Traitor Dalek's death was ultimately avenged thanks to the eventually successful efforts of the Doctor's Companions.

Appearance[]

The Traitor Dalek had a standard bronze Dalek casing with visible battle scar damage on his casing.

Personality[]

Not much is known about the Traitor Dalek's personality traits. What is known is that the Traitor Dalek used to be a typical Dalek, before he had a change of heart, and becoming very disgusted at it's own kinds genocidal ways.

In his final moments the Traitor Dalek showed genuine fear before being having his casing blown apart, and he himself was brutally murdered by his own fellow Daleks.

Trivia[]

  • The Traitor Dalek is the fifth onscreen Dalek to realize the evil of it's own kind and turn on them with the others being Metaltron, Dalek Sec, Dalek Caan, and Dalek Rusty (not counting Clara Oswald, as she was a Human who was forcibly converted into a Dalek).
  • The Traitor Dalek's own death is regarded as one of the most brutal Dalek death's in modern Doctor Who.
  • In the original script, the Traitor Dalek, named "Spy Dalek", identified itself as an elite biological combat engineer whose mission was to devise strategies to ameliorate any Dalek defeat in battle, its work resulting in a genetic code which was to activate and self-execute Dalek creatures in the event of a threat to Dalek supremacy in battle, causing their casings to flood with toxic radiation and detonate, fatally damaging all enemies within a broad radius.
