History[]
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning[]
When Ethan Hunt goes rogue, CIA director, Eugene Kittridge, orders the Community agents, including Theo Degas and his partner and leader, Jasper Briggs, to append him and his IMF team. They head to the Abu Dhabi airport where Ethan and his team members: Luther Stickell and Benji Dunn, are planning to meet the buyer of a key that has access to the source of an AI known as The Entity. While looking for Ethan, Degas and Briggs were led to many different travelers when their colleagues via security cameras assumed that they found him. Eventually, Degas and Briggs found Ethan and began chasing him until they lost sight of him, unaware that he escaped to the top of the airport.
The Community agents later heads off to Rome where Ethan is pursuing Grace, a professional thief who took the key from him back at Abu Dhabi. They and the Italy police force respectively surround them. While Degas is speaking to the Italian force of the situation and Briggs tries to force Ethan to turn himself in, a team of the Entity's goons commanded by Paris arrived in an armored car and started shooting at everyone. Ethan and Grace (handcuffed together) escapes with Paris, the Italian police, and Briggs and Degas pursuing them in a car chase until all of the 3 groups lost sight of them.
Later, Degas and Briggs were informed that Ethan is at a midnight gala in Venice hosted by Alanna Mitsopolis/White Widow. Her bodyguard tries to refuse entry to Degas and Briggs only for Briggs to tased them. When a fight occurs, Degas and Briggs finds Ethan and they chase him once again throughout the streets until they lost him.
Degas and Briggs heads to the Orient Express, having secretly followed Grace there and knowing that Ethan will be there to take the two keys from the person the White Widow is meeting with. They sit at the bar where Degas asks Briggs if chasing after Ethan to apprehend him really is the right thing to do and that he chose to go rogue for the right reason. While they look for Ethan, Degas and Briggs are surprised to see Kittridge there.
The two later finds Ethan fighting Gabriel, the Entity's human avatar/messenger who has a past history with him, on the top of the train. When Ethan attempts to kill Gabriel which the Entity would want him to do, Degas and Briggs stops him and brings him back to his senses, sparing Gabriel. Ethan tires to tell the two to apprehend Gabriel only for him to jump off the train and onto a truck the Entity had prepared for him, before activating bombs he had placed on a bridge to derail the train. With the train going too fast, Ethan convinces Degas and Briggs to evacuate the citizens on the train before it falls off the broken bridge which they do.
After getting the passengers to safety and the train has stopped falling, Degas and Briggs heads towards Ethan and Grace only for Ethan to escape via parachute. Degas finds a wounded Paris succumbing to her injuries after she saved Ethan and Grace and he discovers that she still has a pulse.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning[]
Two months later, Degas and Briggs were taking a recovered Paris from an Austrian prison to the CIA, Ethan and Benji (disused as two prison guards) attacks Briggs and the two guards and recruits Paris and Degas to help them defeat Gabriel and the Entity. After Ethan and Grace's encounter with Gabriel at London, they along with Benji, Paris, and Degas find the chamber that Gabriel uses to speak to the Entity. Despite Paris' warnings that it will change him, Ethan goes inside the chamber to talk to the Entity who reveals its plan to spread itself around the world and predicts that Gabriel will kill Luther. Ethan runs to save Luther, but is too late as Gabriel trapped Luther in a cave with a nuclear bomb forcing Luther to sacrifice himself to migitate the explosion.
Following Luther's death, the team learns that Gabriel stole Luther's "Poison Pill" that would be used to activate the Entity with the Padvoka from Sevastopol. Ethan goes to retrieve the Padkova from the submarine with the key while Degas, Paris, Benji, Grace, travel to St. Matthew Island in the Bering Sea. They meet former CIA analyst William Donloe and his wife Tapessa. They are suddenly attacked by Russian special forces but manage to escape. They later meet up with Ethan who has the Padkova and heads to South Africa.
At the bunker, the team is ambushed by Gabriel's men who planted another nuclear bomb similar to the one that killed Luther. Shortly, Briggs, Kittridge, and the CIA have also arrived before a fight breaks out. While Ethan chases after Gabriel, Grace, Benji, Paris heads to the control room to stop the Entity and Degas, Donloe and Tapessa stay behind to disarm the bomb. The three discover that they might be able to survive if they can reach the server room's protective shielding. After disarming the bomb, Degas, Donloe, and Tapessa were able to get a 10-second head start to escape the explosion. They head to the control room and then reunites with Grace, Benji, and Paris who were able to stop the Entity by containing it in a vial ending its threat on the world all thanks to Ethan plugging in the Padkova and the Poison Pill.
Degas, Grace, Benji, and Paris eventually reunite with Ethan in London and Grace gives Ethan the briefcase containing the Entity before the team went separate ways.
