The Thoha Elder was the leader of the Thoha Tribe. He was first introduced in the Chozo Memories in Metroid: Samus Returns and he reappears in the form of flashbacks of Metroid Dread. He is a posthumous character who left a significant impact upon the galaxy, though unwittingly as he was killed before he could prevent it.
Biography[]
The Thoha Elder arrived alongside his kin on Planet SR388, where they would begin to settle into their new home. They had constructed facilities for the scientists to create various technology and to study the planet's Aeion energy as well as its natural life. They also dug tunnels to explore the depths of the planet. But as they continued to go deeper, they discovered the presence of X-Parasites that inhabited the area and watched as they infected the Horntoads in Area 4. He heads to Area 7's Chozo Laboratory where the Thoha created a new predatory specimen to deal with the X-Parasites, the Metroids.
The Metroids succeeded in eliminated the X, which allowed for further exploration without further disruption. All was well, but it would come to an end when as they gained more Aeion energy, the Metroids began to take on stronger forms to the point where they rebelled against the Thoha. Working together with their fellow Mawkin warriors, they managed to use the purple liquid and the Chozo Seals to keep the Metroid trapped in the caves. They barely managed to escape, but at the cost of some of their kin.
The Thoha Elder turned to Raven Beak and the Mawkin for help in destroying SR388 to eradicate both the X and the Metroids, but Raven Beak had something else in mind as he saw the Metroids' high potential for galactic domination, and instead betrayed him. The Thoha Elder was shot to death by Raven Beak's Arm Cannon and had the Mawkin kill off the Thoha, leaving Quiet Robe as the only survivor of the massacre, only because a Thoha was needed to control the Metroids to further Raven Beak's plans on conquering the galaxy. The X epidemic on ZDR caused a huge delay for Raven Beak and he was forced to contain them in Elun. As he was doing so, Samus Aran would succeed what the Thoha had failed to carry out; destroying SR388 to eradicate every Metroid in existence once and for all.
