Heroine Overview

I am Tikki, the Kwami of Creation. I am everything that isn't yet and is yet to be.
~ Tikki while in her true form.

Tikki is one of the deuteragonists of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. She is a kwami that is connected to the Ladybug Miraculous, and with her power, its wearer can use the earrings to transform into a ladybug-themed superhero, the current wearer being Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

She is voiced by Mela Lee, who also voices Rin Tohsaka, Erika Karisawa, Agnes, Yuki Cross in the English Version.

Appearance[]

Tikki is a small crimson creature with a large head, a tiny body, and dark blue eyes. She resembles a ladybug, with two antennae, a large black spot on her forehead, back, and each side of her head, and a short tail with three tips aligned vertically. However, when commanded by the wielder of the Ladybug Miraculous to reveal herself, Tikki transforms into a more humanoid form with two legs, six arms, wings, and a ladybug-themed appearance. She can then be commanded to fuse with her counterpart, Plagg, to become Gimmi, Kwami of Reality, and grant a wish to whoever summoned her, but as to maintain universal balance, a sacrifice must be made in return, i.e. if someone wishes to bring someone back to life, someone else must lose their life in exchange, and Gimmi will then destroy and recreate the universe in accordance with the wish.

Personality[]

Tikki is calm and collected, while being optimistic, loving, kind, and encouraging. Having a lot of wisdom, Tikki is very open to giving advice, and she will call people out for bad decisions if necessary. Although she can become annoyed or exasperated with others, she doesn't stay upset at them for long, only wanting what's best for them and those around them. She believes in the importance of saving the world above her own needs, even willing to help Marinette transform instead of seeing Master Fu to get healed in "Princess Fragrance". She can also act a bit rashly if she needs to achieve something important, like getting the Miraculous book from Adrien in "Volpina".

She also takes things literally, like when Marinette asks someone to pinch her thinking she means it and when she believes Alya is heading to a dentist because she doesn't understand what a surprise party is. Sometimes, Tikki shows a more playful and affectionate side. In "Guitar Villain", Tikki plays an air guitar solo with Marinette, and she has a pretend fencing match with her in "Riposte". She can be hurt or displeased when someone isn't paying attention or appreciates her, displeased with Marinette unintentionally disregards her gift to her in "Befana". When around other kwamis, Tikki is playful, generous and kind as she is seen playing with Wayzz in "The Collector" and when she shares a macaron with Plagg in "Dark Owl".

Abilities[]

Tikki is able to fly and levitate. In "Copycat", helping Marinette get Adrien's phone, she shows that she can also phase through solid objects, such as a locker door so she can unlock it. She can also carry things that weigh more than her, such as bringing an apple to Marinette without struggle until she trips over a spool of thread in "Mr. Pigeon".

As a kwami, Tikki gives the wearer the power of creation (good luck) and transforms them into a ladybug-themed superhero by entering the Ladybug Miraculous. Although unable to communicate to the wearer while they are transformed, Tikki usually knows what is going on during that time. In "The Bubbler", Tikki is aware that Marinette wasted her power as Ladybug because she was jealous of Chloé with Adrien, and in "The Mime", after Marinette detransforms, Tikki says to her that it was cool she complimented Alya when she was surrounded by the press earlier. Whenever the wearer uses Lucky Charm, Tikki begins losing power and eventually can't retain the transformation any longer, leaving the earrings and reverting the wearer back to normal. Tikki is exhausted and out of energy afterwards, so to be able to transform the wearer again, she must refuel by eating food like cookies.

However, as shown in "Revolution", if the wearer is able to find the willpower to overcome this limitation and failsafe of the Miraculous, they can stay transformed indefinitely, without draining Tikki of her energy, and use Lucky Charm repeatedly. Only when they give Tikki the command to revert back will they return to their normal appearance, with Tikki none the weaker from doing so.

Biography[]

Background[]

Thousands of years prior to the series, Tikki and the other Kwamis traveled the universe, unable to interact with any creatures, particularly humans. This was until a mage forged the Miraculouses, so Tikki and the others could both interact with mankind and grant them the ability to transform into heroes; Tikki and the Ladybug Miraculous able to give a person the ability to grant other people superpowers.

Season 1[]

After Marinette rescues Master Fu as a secret test of character for her, he grants her the Ladybug Miraculous, thus allowing Marinette to meet Tikki and become Ladybug for the first time and meet her new partner and Miraculous user, Cat Noir. At first, Marinette is unwilling to become a superhero, but after witnessing the chaos that resulted from the first of many supervillains created by Hawk Moth with the Butterfly Miraculous, Marinette finds the confidence to embrace her destiny and become Ladybug for good, thus making Tikki her partner Kwami from here on out.

Season 2[]

Miraculous Shanghai[]

Season 3[]

In "Ladybug", after Marinette and her mom Sabine are nearly Akumatized into Princess Justice and Verity Queen by Hawk Moth as Scarlet Moth before Mayura/Catalyst collapses, forcing him to call off the plan, back home, Tikki warns Marinette of the dangers of if she gets Akumatized as she could hand Tikki and the Ladybug Miraculous earrings over to Hawk Moth on a silver platter. Marinette promises not to let Hawk Moth have that opportunity. Later, they and Cat Noir end up facing Mayura and a Sentimonster clone of Ladybug. Though they free her by giving her the object that contained her Amok, Mayura releases it, destroying the Sentimonster Ladybug, to Ladybug and Cat Noir's horror. After Hawk Moth and Mayura escape, Ladybug and Cat Noir fear that using the Peacock Miraculous for evil is even worse than using the Butterfly Miraculous for evil.

Miraculous New York[]

Season 4[]

In "Dearest Family", Tikki gets a new craving for the galettes that the Dupain-Chengs have recently created. She becomes so obsessed with them that when Marinette tries to turn into Ladybug, she is overcome by Tikki's cravings and has to find more to eat herself, rendering her unable to effectively fight when Shadow Moth turns the Dupain-Chengs into their supervillain forms again to hunt down Marinette. When Marinette reverts back, Tikki flies off to find more before Marinette can stop her. By the time she finds Tikki again, Tikki is still so hungry for more galettes that, ignoring Marinette's pleas, Tikki uses Lucky Charm to create a gigantic one that threatens to flatten Paris. Cat Noir is able to destroy it with Cataclysm as Astrocat, but when Tikki is about to try again, Marinette calls her out on her behavior, and remorseful, Tikki explains that she can't help herself, and she was worried that, because of her cravings, Marinette would think less of her. Marinette assures her she would never do such a thing, and offers to help Tikki control her cravings, thus improving their unity as Marinette believes in Tikki, but Tikki needs to believe in herself with being able to fight off her cravings on her own. With that, they become Ladybug again, and when they and Cat Noir retreat to the Dupain-Cheng bakery where the infected galette was, struggling to fight off wanting to eat it, Ladybug passes it to Cat Noir to destroy with Cataclysm, freeing the Megakuma for Ladybug to purify and return the Dupain-Chengs to normal. Later, when Marinette offers some of a galette to the other Kwamis, although they are worried about Tikki, Marinette and Tikki assure them that Tikki is controlling her cravings better now, much to the relief of the other Kwamis.

In the season finale, "Shadow Moth's Final Attack", when Marinette discovers that the Adrien she gave the Dog Miraculous to was actually his cousin Felix, she quickly reverts back from Ladybug, recharges Tikki, and transforms back, but is too late to prevent her yo-yo from being used to allow Hawk Moth to acquire the rest of the Miraculous through it. Both Marinette and Tikki are devastated over losing the Miraculous and their Kwamis, but Cat Noir encourages them to keep fighting as he, and all of Paris, still believe in Ladybug and support her, restoring her spirits and morale.

Season 5[]

In the two-part season finale, "The Last Day", Tikki joins Marinette as, tipped off by Argos and Kagami as to Monarch's true identity as Gabriel Agreste, and joined by Plagg, who had been told to return to Marinette to protect her by Adrien as he was in no position to help her anymore as Cat Noir, they infiltrate the mansion and confront Monarch while avoiding the various citizens who, thanks to Gabriel and Tomoe, had been turned into loyal Miraculized soldiers to hunt Ladybug and Cat Noir down. Having Tikki and Plagg combine their powers to turn her into Bug Noire, Marinette faces off with Gabriel, but is unable to disarm him of the Butterfly Miraculous until she threatens to attack the glass coffin containing Gabriel's comatose wife and Adrien's mother, Emilie. With Monarch forced to protect his wife from Bug Noire's attacks, she manages to disarm him of the Butterfly Miraculous, turning him back into Gabriel. After she shows him the last video message Emilie left to Nathalie before slipping into her coma from using the Peacock Miraculous while it was damaged, seeing Gabriel finally break down in guilt and remorse, Marinette reverts back from Bug Noire, despite Tikki and Plagg warning her of the risk of doing so, to encourage him to repent and atone for his actions. However, with his own body about to die from the necrosis from the Cataclysm he infected himself with before, Gabriel uses his last ounces of strength to immobilize Marinette with the Bee Miraculous' Venom, just as Tikki and Plagg warned her of, captures the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous, and then has Tikki and Plagg transform into their true forms, before fusing into Gimmi. However, Marinette's words did have an effect on him, and Gabriel asks Gimmi to look in his heart and soul for what he wishes for and what to sacrifice in return to maintain the universal balance. Understanding his request, Gimmi grants it, sending Gabriel and Emilie to the afterlife before beginning the process of recreating the universe in accordance with Gabriel's wish.

After Gimmi completes her task and returns back to being Tikki and Plagg, fast forward one month later to show that Gabriel's wish seemed to have a positive effect on Paris: Adrien is back in his family's estate like he never left, his aunt Amelie, cousin Felix, and a healthy Nathalie are watching over him, his classmates are having a pool party there, Miss Bustier is the new Mayor of Paris, making it more eco-friendly, Tomoe has taken over Gabriel's business to continue his legacy, and Gabriel himself is hailed as a hero for taking Monarch down at the cost of his own life, with a statue being made in his honor using the melted down Alliance Rings after all the Miraculized were reverted back with no memory of what happened thanks to Gimmi's power. With Tikki and the Miraculous Grimoire's help, Marinette is able to restore the Miraculous back to their original forms, and entrusts them once more to her classmates to become members of the French Miraculous Superhero Team again, seeing it better to keep the Miraculous separated to prevent them being stolen and used for evil again, but much to Tikki and Marinette's disappointment, they could not recover the Butterfly Miraculous and Nooroo, but vow to find it and get it back, even if someone else acquired it and intended to use it for evil as well.

Miraculous Paris[]

Tikki is with Marinette and Alya still discussing the situation following the events of retrieving the Rabbit Miraculous and Monarch being infected with Cataclysm, putting him on a proverbial countdown to a date with the Grim Reaper as his body succumbs to the Cataclysm's necrosis. When Alya suddenly collapses to her knees and transforms into Ubiquity, a Kamikotized superhero, a portal she summons brings the Gabriel Agreste from a parallel universe, known as Betterfly due to using his Butterfly Miraculous for good, not evil, through. When Marinette instinctively goes to turn into Ladybug, Tikki signals "no", indicating Marinette can trust this version of Gabriel. When Ubiquity warns that Betterfly's enemies are coming through and to run, Tikki goes with Betterfly and Marinette as they flee to the Eiffel Tower, only to then be engaged by Betterfly's enemies, Shadybug and Claw Noir. Watching from her hiding spot, Marinette is told by Tikki that there are multiple parallel universes out there, and she can exist simultaneously in all of them, but due to the human lifespan, there is never enough time to fully explain all the details to one Miraculous user before they pass on. Tikki also reveals that whenever Marinette turns into Ladybug, when she uses her Lucky Charm, it triggers a failsafe, resulting in why Marinette turns back to normal after a set time limit after using Lucky Charm, as using it saps health from both the Kwami and the user. Since Shadybug and Claw Noir use their Miraculous for evil, they can bypass this failsafe, but in the process, using their Lucky Charm and Cataclysm constantly without need for rest and recuperation is slowly killing them. Horrified by this revelation, Marinette has Tikki turn her into Ladybug to protect Betterfly, and when Cat Noir arrives to help, Betterfly Kamikotizes him into the superhero Celesticat to fly Ladybug and himself to safety.

After Marinette and Adrien revert back, they feed Tikki and Plagg to help them recover their energy while they recuperate, and learn the full details from Betterfly of the nightmare his universe is in thanks to The Supreme, who possesses all of the Miraculous, and placed seals on Tikki and Plagg to prevent summoning Gimmi in that universe so he alone could control reality there.

Speaking of the parallel Tikki, upon Shadybug reverting back to Marinette, having read the Prime Marinette's diary and learning of Gimmi, she tries to have her Tikki and Plagg become Gimmi, but The Supreme intervenes, reminding the Parallel Marinette and Adrien that only he defines reality, before turning Tikki and Plagg back to their Kwami forms. Monarch then appears and offers Shadybug and Claw Noir the opportunity to help him capture his universe's Tikki and Plagg to summon Gimmi and have their wish.

Once Tikki and Plagg are recovered, and so are Marinette and Adrien, they turn back into Ladybug and Cat Noir and agree to help Betterfly. Upon Alya showing that Shadybug and Claw Noir have allied with Monarch, Ladybug and Cat Noir fly Betterfly and Alya to London to carry out Ladybug's plan to beat them, having Betterfly turn Alya into Ubiquity again, then having Ladybug combine Tikki with the Parallel Nooroo to become Ladyfly, Kamikotize the good Gabriel into Guardian Angel, and stash his Kamikotized object back in his home universe where Monarch can't detect it and reverse the transformation. The plan works as Monarch is forced to retreat upon realizing he fell into a trap, while Ladyfly fights Shadybug. However, upon summoning a mirror as her Lucky Charm, Ladyfly tries to reason with Shadybug, but Shadybug, distraught and blinded by her hopelessness, breaks it while telling Ladyfly of how much she's suffered back in her universe thanks to Chloe and not having any friends or family to turn to for moral support. Seeing this, Ladyfly manually reverts back into Marinette, and with Tikki watching, tries to still reason with Shadybug. At first, Shadybug pins Marinette to the wall and prepares to take the Butterfly Miraculous back before probably going for Tikki and the Ladybug Miraculous next, but Marinette's words finally break through The Supreme's conditioning of Shadybug, and she relents. Encouraged by Marinette and Tikki, Shadybug performs her own Miraculous Ladybug to repair the damage she's wrought on the Prime Paris, which also heals her and gives her a new uniform, though whether or not this also broke the seal on the Parallel Tikki and Plagg to summon Gimmi is unknown.

When Ubiquity warns that Monarch is attempting to give himself the power to travel between universes to get the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous from somewhere else, Tikki braces herself as Ladybug willingly lets herself be Kamikotized into Ladybiquity, allowing her to link with herself in the parallel universes and attack Monarch from there, forcing him to abandon his quest and swear vengeance on Ladybug throughout the Multiverse.

After Betterfly and the reformed Shadybug and Claw Noir, now calling themselves Ladybug and Paw Noir, return home through Ubiquity's portal to their home universe, Marinette, Tikki, and Alya return home just in time to get some sleep before awakening for breakfast made by Marinette's parents.

Miraculous London[]

Taking place during the final moments of "Re-creation (The Last Day - Part 2)", after granting Gabriel's wish, Gimmi defuses back into Tikki and Plagg, and a healed Nathalie comes down just in time to see Marinette before she has Tikki and Plagg turn her into Bug Noire again. Before Nathalie alerts them to her presence, Marinette asks Tikki and Plagg what Gabriel wished for. They somberly reveal that Gabriel sacrificed his life to heal Nathalie of her illness, which she overhears. After explaining what happened to Nathalie, Marinette wants to cover up any trace of Gabriel's actions as Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth/Monarch from the public, and especially Adrien. When Nathalie intends to turn herself in for her own crimes as Mayura and helping Gabriel, Marinette talks her out of it, reminding her that Adrien still needs a guardian to look after him now that he's lost both of his parents. Realizing she's right, Nathalie agrees to look after Adrien from now on, and helps Marinette free the other Kwamis before Marinette then uses her Miraculous Ladybug to undo the effects of Nightormentor and Operation Perfect Alliance, restoring the Miraculized to normal with no memory of what happened, saving all her allies in the process. She then heads to London to free Adrien and Kagami, telling Adrien the half-truth that his father sacrificed himself to end Monarch's threat forever. After returning to Paris, Marinette reverts back from Bug Noire before being hugged by Nathalie as she finally lets her emotions out, guilt-ridden and remorseful for lying to Adrien about Gabriel's true fate. Afterwards, Marinette becomes Bug Noire again to destroy all evidence of Gabriel's actions as Monarch with Cataclysm, destroying The Crypt and Gabriel's lair to ensure they can never be found. She then calls a press conference as Ladybug to spin the cover story of Gabriel and Monarch's fates to the public, before returning home, exhausted from everything she did. As the Kwamis go to sleep, Marinette voices her doubts of what she did to Tikki and Plagg, but they assure her she made the right choice, even if she doesn't think so herself, before they go to sleep as well.

However, after Marinette goes to sleep, Lila/Cerise, as Specter Looter, slips into her room and kidnaps the Kwamis, along with their Miraculous, including Tikki and Plagg, from right out under her nose. Marinette wakes up later to find to her horror that someone had summoned Gimmi and made a wish. Before she can be affected by it, she's saved by Bunnyx pulling her into the Burrow just in time, explaining what happened, and how they need to undo this. Unable to use her own Miraculous of the Ladybug since it was stolen, Marinette instead retrieves the ones her past self gave up back in "Ladybug & Cat Noir (Origins - Part 1)". Though the past Tikki is confused by what's going on, understanding the situation at hand, she gladly helps Marinette become Chronobug to fix the timeline.

Unable to stop Specter Looter directly, Chronobug instead ops to go after Timestalker, who had been tailing Marinette during everything leading up to when she freed Adrien and Kagami from their imprisonment in London. Figuring out that is when Timestalker found out she was Ladybug, Marinette is able to steal her journal and then edit it without Timestalker knowing to say that Gabriel Agreste was Ladybug and not Marinette, before giving it back to her after taunting her about how Ladybug won't rest until she gets the Miraculous of the Butterfly back from the new Hawk Moth. With that done, and all of the Burrow's time windows gone, there's nothing else for Chronobug and Bunnyx to do but wait and see if it worked and the timeline post-Gabriel's wish is restored.

When Lila checks the journal back at her lair and sees it say Gabriel was Ladybug, she snaps in fury, realizing Ladybug sabotaged her carefully laid out plan and ruined any chance of Lila getting a hold of Tikki and Plagg and summoning Gimmi. As a result, the timeline is restored now that Specter Looter did not come into existence and get a hold of the Miraculous, and Marinette uses Miraculous Ladybug to send the past Tikki and Miraculous of the Ladybug back to their time period without her past self ever being aware of the Miraculous having disappeared while she was away. Marinette returns to the present to see everything back to normal, and is overjoyed, much to Plagg's confusion, but Tikki knows what went down in the meantime.

Later, Marinette begins turning the Miraculous Alliance Rings back into their original forms, if not better, using the Miraculous Grimoire. She also makes the decision, as Guardian, to send the Kwamis back to their holders on a permanent basis to ensure that no one can steal all of them again, especially to summon Gimmi with Tikki and Plagg. Tikki will stay with Marinette, and Plagg is sent back to Cat Noir. Later, when Cat Noir meets up with Ladybug at the Eiffel Tower to talk, they share a hug as they agree that, no matter what, they'll get the Miraculous of the Butterfly back from the new Hawk Moth "just like old times".
