Timcanpy is a character introduced in D.Gray-man series.
He is a Golem created by Cross Marian and was previously owned by Nea D. Campbell before Cross gave it to Allen to cheer him up. He is very loyal to his creator Cross and is shown obeying and following his orders. Cross has admitted he hates Timcanpy because he is able to track him, due to this at the church Mother suggested to destroy Timcanpy, but Cross refused to do as it was the only thing back then that would cheer Allen from his deep depression after losing Mana. Through ought the series Tim has recorded events from 35 years ago.
Appearance[]
Timcanpy is a small golden Golem that looks like a golden-ball creature with four, stubby legs, the front two of which he can form little "fingers" with, a long tail that ends in a thick swirl, and two feathered wings. He has a cross shape on his face and above it are two small horns. Unlike other golems who are mechanical, Tim is a biological being, it is unclear what his body is made up of as he is seen being reduced to fragments. He does, though, have a mouth, teeth and tongue, and he has recently learned to eat.
Timcanpy size varies through the series, when first introduced to Allen he was big as big as a balloon and as time passed he kept growing bigger and bigger. During the North American Branch his size expanded dramatically making him much larger than any person. Although later Allen has found out that he could shrink himself back to normal being the size of a ping pong ball again.
Once, Timcanpy grew hair, though it was only thanks to one of the many unusual tonics produced by the European Branch Science Division.
History[]
Timcanpy is a golem created by Cross Marian. At some point he became Nea D. Campbell property and the two were very close, in fact Nea cared for Timcanpy so much.
He is known to have been observing Mana on Cross' orders when Allen met Mana. Allen first met Timcanpy and Cross in Lost Fragment of Snow; Timcanpy was the one who broke Allen out of the circus's beast cage he was locked in, and also stopped Cross from murdering Allen out of rage.
In a church Cross reintroduced Timcanpy to Allen to cheer him up after he recovered from the trauma of turning Mana into an Akuma. Cross did this in order for Allen to have a peaceful nights, as Allen still had nightmares during his sleep and cries in his sleep. Both Allen and Timcanpy kept staring at each other at first, but they quickly became fast friends. Eventually Allen started to become very fond of Timcanpy even hugging him.
After Cross abandoned Allen in India three to four months, Allen becomes an official Exorcist and joins the Black Order. Cross left Timcanpy with Allen to act as a guide. After Cross left to head to Central after the attack on the old European Branch Headquarters, he left Timcanpy behind again, as he claims that golem didn't want to go with him. After the "death" of Cross has been reported, Allen found a message within Timcanpy from Cross that officially turned ownership of Timcanpy to Allen.
Personality[]
Typically, Timcanpy is very simple almost childish creature. His curiosity often gets him into trouble situations or lead him learning new things such us eating or smoking. He is emphatic enough to be able to tell when those around him are upset and often tries to comfort them. He has a rivalry with Yu Kanda golem (who Timcanpy once ate). Timcanpy can become angry as seen when he "admonished" Allen by biting him. Most commonly, though, Timcanpy displays a steadfast loyalty to Allen and Cross, once almost refusing to leave Allen's side in order to avoid leaving Allen alone with the dangerous Noah Tyki Mikk, and on another occasion returning to the room where Cross was supposedly killed several times to cuddle with the bloodstains that were left behind. Timcanpy also hates Apocryphos so much and seem very angry at his presence, during their first meeting, and during their second meeting he even tries to fight Apocryphos but this eventually cost him his own life. It is implied the reason Apocryphos killed Timcanpy was because Timcanpy knows something about it. Although Timcanpy understands that Nea's goal is to take over Allen's body, he probably has conflicted feelings about this since Nea used to be his original master, yet he seems to be happy around Allen.
Powers and Abilities[]
Flight: As a golem, Timcanpy is capable of flying, though he has been seen going faster than any other golem, capable of out flying a swarm of Akuma's in a sonic speed manner.
Record and Replay: Being a golem, Timcanpy can record anything that he sees, he can then show it to others for reviewing purposes, he can also replay audio clips.
Size Manipulation: Timcanpy can change his size and weight at will. He can reach a weight of 300 kg maximum.
Magical Conduit: Timcanpy can be used to store and cast spells and can be activated automatically. Using his tail Timcanpy can also be used to open a door directly to the room that contains the piano that controls Noah's Ark.
Immortality: Timcanpy can survive all types of injuries, including being severed, eaten. He is even able to regenerate himself if crushed, his only weakness is a splinter from the tree of Cornelia at the Campbell residence. As after Apocryphyos killed Cross and stole it from him he later used it against Timcanpy. Timcanpy stopped regenerating after being stabbed by the wooden chip.
Tracking: Timcanpy has been designed to be able to find his "master", whoever it happens to be at the time, wherever they are, no matter how far away that person might be.
Holographic Projections: Timcanpy has the ability to produce holographic projections from his mouth, and he uses this to display the musical "Score" that powers Noah's Ark.
High Intelligence: Timcanpy is a very smart golem, he can tell when someone is upset, sad or angry, and can understand human language pretty easily.

- Timothy Hearst is particularly fond of Timcanpy. They also share the same nickname "Tim". Timothy once got his own Timcanpy's espy called Kom-Canpy.
- It is unclear what is the relationship between Ur-Canpy and Timcanpy. But Ur-Canpy is likely a prototype of Timcanpy.
- Timcanpy has shown to change cross shaped symbol on his face on several times.
- Timcanpy has a tendency to get himself eaten by cats.
