The Time Patrol is the overarching protagonistic faction of the Doraemon franchise. It was formed to maintain law and order through time. Their leader is an unnamed officer with mustache.
Overview[]
The Time Patrol was created in the 22nd century in order to maintain law and order through time, capturing time criminals who try to disrupt history. They have provided helps for Doraemon and his friends throughout the series.
Perhaps their most notable contribution to the story is when they tried to capture Dolmanstein and Black Mask in the short film 2112: The Birth of Doraemon. When the two criminals were escaping, they produced a lightning bolt that struck into the newly-made Doraemon, causing him to be malfunctioned. Due to this, Doraemon did poorly at the Robot Academy and during the final presentation show, he performed badly and nobody wanted to hire him, until baby Sewashi pushed the button.
Much later, when Dolmanstein and Black Mask kidnap Sewashi, Doraemon accidentally managed to rescue him but lost his fourth dimensional pocket in the process. As a reward for helping the Time Patrol to capture the criminals, Principal Teraodai gave him the Mini-Doras and a new fourth dimensional pocket on Christmas.
Later on, the Time Patrol appear in regular episodes, long stories and specials and capture time criminals that the main characters have defeated, thanking the latters for helping them.
Arsenal[]
The Time Patrol are very effective, having a variety of advanced technology, aircrafts and experienced pilots, allowing them to conjure a massive army when needed. However, they have a harder time fighting against the time criminals from farther future due to the latters' more advanced technology. The Time Patrol also have members instated in various places to detect the criminals, sometimes even infiltrate their groups.
