Tinker Tom is the quartermaster and primary repairman for the Railroad, Tom is known for his outlandish theories and use of chems.

Biography[]
Background[]
Tinker Tom joined the Railroad after his family was blown up by the Institute and joined under Desdemona's leadership. Tom quickly rose the ranks due to his high intelligence and was reassigned to the HQ. There he would become a vital part of the daily operations. Tinker Tom has many titles/jobs in the railroad including engineer, inventor, weapons expert and the holder of the third-highest position of leadership in the Railroad. Tinker Tom is in charge of maintaining the Railroad's weapons and inventing new ones alongside gadgets and tools. Over time Tom developed severe psychological problems and became even more eccentric, believing that the Institute was secretly terraforming the Commonwealth and putting spy robots in pre-war foods. This was the result of him being highly stressed out from his work which leading to him becoming addicted to chems. When the Railroad discovered the Switchboard, a pre-war Defence Intelligence Agency facility, Tinker Tom was sent to look at the tech there where he would find P.A.M, aka Predictive Analytic Machine, he also re-engineered a special handgun called the Deliverer, which would be gifted to up and coming agent Tommy Whispers. After the Switchboard was found by the Institute, Tinker Tom survived the purge and relocated to the new Railroad HQ in the Old Mormon Church.

The Molecular Level:[]
The Sole Survivor goes to tinker tom to get the courser chip decoded in order to get into the Institute.
Rockets' Red Glare[]
if the Sole Survivor sides with the Railroad they will have to take down the Brotherhood of Steel. Tom comes with the Sole Survivor at the assault on the police station and pilots the vertibird to the Prydwen.
The Nuclear Option (railroad)[]
If the sole survivor asks the Railroad for help with the teleporter Tinker Tom will be the one that helps with how to build it and will be with the group the goes on the final assault in the Institute, staying behind to teleport everyone out when its done.
Weathervane[]
Tinker Tom believes that the Institute plans to terraform the Commonwealth by poisoning the atmosphere and sends the Sole Survivor to prove his theory by setting up devices he calls MILA's to detect any anomalies in the air, after the MILA is placed and Tom is informed it has been place he rewards the Sole Survivor.
