The Toa Metru are the group of heroes that appeared in the BIONICLE series. They serve as the main protagonists in both 2004 and 2005 storylines and later the supporting protagonists in the rest of the storyline. They were the six Toa, whose goal was to protect Metru Nui, the city island and the Matoran there from the threats of Teridax and the Dark Hunters.

Later when the Toa Metru were captured by the Visorak, spider-like Rahi, they were transformed into the Toa Hordika. However after successfully defeated the Visorak horde and find the Rahi Keetongu, he changed them back to their Toa Metru form.

After the Toa Metru sacrificed their powers to reawaken the Matoran after they evacuated them into the island of Mata Nui, they eventually became Turaga. Despite that, they still continued to aid the Matoran and later became the allies of the Toa Mata.

After the Toa Nuva, Turaga, Matoran and Takanuva, the Toa of Light returned to Metru Nui following Teridax's defeat, the Turaga currently rule Metru Nui alongside Turaga Dume.

History

Formation

Around 1,001 years ago, the island of Metru Nui was subtly attacked. The Turaga of Metru Nui named Dume was attacked by Teridax when he was tricked by the Po-Matoran, Ahkmou into going to Po-Metru and placed him in the Matoran Sphere as the Makuta then impersonated him as part of his master plan of taking over the Matoran Universe.
