Private First Class Todd "Kash" Kashima is a supporting character in the 2016 video game, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

He is SATO marine serving aboard the UNSA Retribution, and participated in numerous operations to deal great blows against the Settlement Defense Front.

He was voiced and motion captured by Eric Ladin, who also voiced Ellis in Left 4 Dead 2 and Cole MacGrath in inFamous 2 and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Todd Kashima was born on Earth in northern Canada, where he spent time with his family and learning survival skills. At some point, he joined the SATO Marine Corps, telling his parents that he was ready to give his life fighting for a good cause. Following his training, Kashima was assigned to Staff Sergeant Usef Omar's infantry unit on the UNSA Retribution, where he became friends with fellow marine Sean Brooks. He became known as the class clown in the infantry, and despite being the butt of his fellow marines' jokes, he earned their respect due to his survivalist skills.

Infinite Warfare[]

Kashima and the Marines were onboard the Retribution during fleet week, and he survived the surprise attack from the Settlement Defense Front. Once the SDF retreated from Earth, Todd was left shaken from the incident, feeling guilty for not saving one of his comrades during the attack. After Nick Reyes was promoted to commander, Kashima participated in re-taking Earth's lunar gateway from the SDF with the support of the UNSA Tigris. Following the successful operation, Enhanced Tactical Humanoid 3rd Revision (E3N), also known as "Ethan", downloaded the locations of every SDF leadership and their warships. Kashima assisted Reyes in dealing great blows against the SDF due to his knowledge, such as recovering a prototype weapon from the SDS Galaxius, and stealing a prototype skelter from the SDS Cerberus.

With the UNSA needing more time to rebuild, Admiral Fredrick Raines tasks Reyes to hit the SDF's fueling station on Titan to keep them away from Earth. During the operation, the group are attacked by the Olympus Mons, but the Retribution arrives in the nick of time to help them. Following Reyes and E3N's retrieval by Captain Maureen Ferran, the Retribution is advised by the UNSA to travel to Vesta-3 since the place has gone dark. During the mission, Kashima asks Reyes if Salter is available, which the latter jokingly says is. The team then discover that the crew on the mining colony were attacked by the mechanized bots, seemingly have turned against their allies.

The group find survivors on the colony, and Reyes orders Salter to return to the raven to pick them up. As they escape, Omar orders them to leave him behind after failing to rescue a wounded survivor. Kashima and Reyes are saddened by his death, wanting to go back to save their fallen comrade. After the loss of Captain Ferran, Reyes coordinates a plan to trick the SDF with a surprise attack, but this goes awry when SDF officer Akeel Min Riah succeeds in his plans. Following the destruction of the UNSA's headquarters, Kashima and the team infiltrate the Olympus Mons, and Reyes eliminates Admiral Salen Kotch. Taking command of Kotch's flagship, the remnants of the UNSA initiate an attack on the SDF's shipyard.

After the Retribution and the Olympus Mons crashes on Mars, Kashima is found by Brooks crushed under rubber and bleeding from his wounds. While Reyes and Brooks attempt to save him, Kashima jokes that he will earn a purple heart, intending to impress Salter with it. He then dies from his injuries, believing that he saw rain before passing away. After the SDF's shipyard was destroyed, Todd's name was sketched onto the Wall of Remembrance, where he, alongside the fallen, were honored by Salter.
