Toge Inumaki is a major character of the manga/anime Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 and a supporting character of its sequel series Jujutsu Kaisen. He is the descendant of the Inumaki family born with a powerful cursed technique: Cursed Speech. Due to the danger of his ability, he uses onigiri ingredients to limit his words.

He is also currently a second-year student (along with Panda, Maki Zenin, and Yuta Okkotsu) and a Semi-Grade 1 sorcerer at Tokyo Jujutsu High, being one of the students of Satoru Gojo.

He is voiced by Koki Uchiyama (who voices Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia, Soul Evans in Soul Eater, Izumi Miyamura in HoriMiya, and Kei Tsukishima in Haikyuu!!) in Japanese and by Xander Mobus in English.

Appearance[]

Toge is a slim young man with light skin, purple eyes (brown in the manga), and off-white mid-length straight hair. As a descendant of the Inumaki family, he was born with the "Snake and Fangs" seal on his tongue and around both sides of his mouth. In Jujutsu High, he wears a dark-blue uniform tailored with a high, zipped-up collar to cover his mouth. While training, Toge wears the same zipped-up collar as his uniform, but he wears a white T-shirt, green athletic pants and shoes.

Personality[]

Toge is generally a quiet and distant boy who often speaks his limited vocabulary to onigiri ingredients, due to his powerful cursed technique, the Cursed Speech; thus, he is one of the most powerful students at Jujutsu High. Despite his aloof personality, he is truly an insightful and caring person who gets along very well with Yuta Okkotsu after the latter's entrance to Jujutsu High. Toge is also calm and intelligent in any situation, as well as being fully aware of having a greater amount of cursed energy that he holds for his technique. Aside from his kind and quiet nature, he can be somewhat playful, due to being involved in Panda and Satoru's funny antics (such as wearing Maki's skirt in episode 10 post-credits), much to Megumi's lack of respect towards him.

Abilities[]

Cursed Speech: Toge has an inherited cursed technique that possesses the "Snake and Fangs" seal of the Inumaki clan on his tongue and around both sides of his mouth. The Cursed Speech allows him to infuse his words verbally with his powerful amount of cursed energy to send commands to his opponents. It also allows to send commands to opponents far from the Cursed Speech user via communication devices and voice amplifiers of any kind.

Weaknesses[]

The stronger the words used, the worse the side effects are. In the worse case scenario, cursed speech could backfire on Inumaki and result in sore throats, coughing up blood, and/or losing the ability to speak. Many of these symptoms can be remedied with cough syrup or cough medicine.

The downside of his cursed technique is that the more Toge uses his cursed technique, the more it will bring painful drawbacks against him, which is the reason why he limited his vocabulary to speak onigiri ingredients to keep his friends and other people safe.

"Get Twisted" or "Twist" forces an appendage of the target(s) to twist to the point of complete disfigurement.
"Get Crushed" causes target(s) to implode until they're flattened out.
"Crumble Away" or "Plummet" creates a small field of intensely heavy gravity that crushes the target until they're violently sent underground.
"Don't Move" or "Stop it" completely immobilizes the targets or any of their attacks.
"Sleep" instantly makes the target(s) fall asleep.
"Return" can forcibly dispel a Shikigami.
"Run Away" forces the target(s) to flee the area.
"Blast Away" is a powerful command that creates an explosive impact of great concussive force strong enough to launch the targets away.
"Die" steals away the life of the target(s), causing them to instantly die.

  - Salmon Roe (すじこ Sujiko^?) — "Well, well" or "My, my".
  - Caviar (いくら Ikura^?) — Used as an expletive/curse word.
  - Spicy Cod Roe (めんたいこ Mentaiko^?) — Used motivationally.
  - Tuna (ツナ Tsuna^?), Tuna Tuna (ツナツナ Tsuna Tsuna^?) — Used to call attention to something, "Look".
  - Tuna Mayo (ツナマヨ Tsuna Mayo^?) — Used as general talk, "Do something" (about the situation).

He is the second-shortest student at Tokyo Jujutsu High next to Nobara.
He loves trolling.
Like Yuji and Maki, he is proven to be athletic, as seen in Episode 21.
Of all Tokyo Jujutsu High Students, Inumaki has the least screentime during the Shibuya Incident arc.
He shares the same birthday as Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill.
