Tolkien Black

Token Black, voiced by Adrien Beard, was for a long time the only black child in South Park. His name is reference to being a token minority character and his second name is reference to common slang for African Americans, encapsulating the show's prominent self awareness. Token is one of the few classmates in South Park elementary to have an underlying sense of decency, though he is often made-fun of for being rich and by extension disconnected with the rest of the children. Token is not above taking advantage of his class-mates but as of yet has not done so in anyway that abjectly harms them. He is seen as both popular and fairly intelligent and though only a side character in the show he is perhaps the most dependable and proactive side-character in the cast.
