While he normally appears to be harmless and cute, it is notable that when in danger Tokomon will open his mouth, which reveals layers of huge shark-like fangs. However, he is never seen using these fangs so it is likely they are just used as a scare tactic.

Dark Masters attack the facility where he is housed, and Gennai flees with the eggs in hand. He is taken to File Island, where he hatches into Poyomon who eventually digivolves into Tokomon. During this time, he plays with the other Digimon as he holds the Digivice that belongs to T.K., waiting for his partner's arrival.
