Toot, Whistle, Plunk, and Boom

This quartet nicknamed "Toot, Whistle, Plunk, and Boom" is a group of four cavemen. They appear in the 1953 Disney short of the same name.

History

Toot

"Toot" is the first caveman. The first instrument to make his sound is an old cow's horn. He is seen in Egypt where the sound doesn't suit the pharaoh at all. After that, the owl talks to the audience about how horns were invented in the early years and also using different keys.

Whistle

"Whistle" is the second caveman. He improved the notes by putting more holes on his tube of grass. After that, the owl talks to the audience of how these instruments were improved in the early years.

Plunk

"Plunk" is the third caveman. His instrument is a bow produces a sound. The chorus talks to the audience of how the bow should be taken first, then a jar to make a resonator, and including a few strings and also rearranging. As the audience listens to them, the owl explains that you can either play with a bow or use it with your hands.

Boom

"Boom" is the last caveman. His music is produced by hitting his body. After that, the owl explains of how this sound was made by rattling and ringing and drumming.

Conclusion

The quartet is seen in the marching band making sounds that share their name. The four cavemen later appear in the concert playing their instruments after the chorus tells the audience about the music.
