Torch is a supporting character appeared in Dragons: Riders of Berk and Dragons: Defenders of Berk. He is initially a puppy, the first discovered specimen of Typhoomerang.
History[]
Torch first appears in the episode "The Terrible Twos", when Hiccup and his friends find him in the woods and decide to keep him and study him, as he is of an undiscovered species.
Meanwhile, in the forest, her mother is no longer able to find Torch, and begins to slowly move towards Berk. No one knows of the danger that is coming, except Toothless, who can't wait to get rid of the puppy. Hiccup, however, believes that he is just jealous, but after being convinced by his dragon, he goes out to check and, after an aerial chase, finally manages to return the little Typhoomerang to his mother.
Torch reappears in the episode "Dragon Flower", now grown up. After finding Tuffunt in a trap set years earlier by the other Vikings, he tries to interact with him, even if the boy fails to recognize him. The two initially engage in a staring contest, then roar at each other, and eventually Tuffunt tries to teach him some hand signals, such as opening his wings and spinning around. When Ruffunt notices her brother, she is quite surprised and only later, together with Hiccup, are they able to understand that it is Torch.
Torch was also very helpful in saving Berk from a fire accidentally caused by Barf and Belch.
Appearance[]
It has a predominantly orange upper body and an underbelly of the same color only paler.
Personality[]
As a Baby he was extremely curious, but also a little selfish. Like all Typhoomerangs he is wild, as a young man he was very attached to his mother, brother and sister, and was quite happy to be reunited with them.
He has always had a rivalry with Toothless, as the latter has always been a little jealous of him. However, Torch is also shown to be very protective of his friends, such as when he protected Hiccup and Toothless from a burning tree and is also very helpful, helping Hiccup, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Toothless, Barf, and Belch put out a fire.
Torch was officially trained by Tuffunt, although he never had any particular friendship with the boy when he was little. when he was an adult, however, he recognized him after a while and played with him. He also learned some hand signals from Tuff such as roaring, and the boy promises that he will always remember him as the only dragon who listened to him.
