Toshiie Maeda is a character in the Samurai Warriors series. He is one of the generals of Nobunaga Oda and the uncle of Keiji Maeda.

He was voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi, who also voiced Naomasa Ii in the same series, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad of the Assassin Creed series, Kenshiro in the Fist of the North Star series, Jonathan Joestar in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and Maxima from SNK universe.

History[]

Samurai Warriors 2[]

Toshiie started to join the battle against Yoshimoto Imagawa with Nobunaga at Okehazama while he serving as Katsuie's trusted follower and with determined his mentor's fame.

However, after the war of Okehazama and Kanegasaki, Toshiie recruited himself into the Toyotomi army upon impression of his master and but he was mediocre in times up to battles with the Saika rebels and Mori at Osaka Bay.

Despite this, he worked with the Toyotomi to fights off the Chōsokabe clan at Shikoku where they listened a news of the death of Nobunaga in Honnoji. After Hideyoshi kill Mitsuhide to avenge his master's death, Katsuie also suicide upon the flames at the castle.

Toshiie later swears to keep an eye on his lord so that the lives lost for Hideyoshi's goals would not be in empty.

Samurai Warriors 3[]

Toshiie portrayed as a supporting role at early battles in Keiji's story and appearing in some the battles of Oda and Toyotomi such as Okehazama and Komaki-Nagakute. With his demise, the Toyotomi retainers of Kyoto are bogs up the rebellion within.

Samurai Warriors 4[]

As the wild and poor samurai of the Maeda, Toshiie would accompanied Nobunaga and his forces to attack the Imagawa when he dragged by Katsuie at Okehazama. He performing well during the battle, allowing him an rendership with his lord. When Nobunaga destroy Yoshimoto, Toshiie also gets rid of the rest members of Imagawa and wins the battle. Noticeably to this, he moved beyond words as that Katsuie, Keiji, and Hideyoshi defend of their lord's amnesty, but his rank is refounding.

Toshiie had deferential via his ambitions and only wants to be great performance of the battles for sake of his wife, Matsu. He cheerfully to becoming a humble soldier, following his nephew's leadership and content to had lives. Upon his plans are dropped Nobunaga then offhand to grants him Maeda leadership as a reward for his efforts near the capital Kyoto. Inspired by Katsuie's guidance, Toshiie keep struggles at Tedorigawa, Noda-Fukushima, and Nagashino. He also fights in revised to his new responsibilities at Kii Province.

His intention to gives the leadership back to his nephew unable voiced his desires while Keiji is already leaves. Despite never protect Nobunaga at Honnoji, Toshiie decided to left the capital for eastern campaigns, but he later becoming minor roles in the following games. During Hideyoshi and Katsuie's confronted each other at Shizugatake, Toshiie feel duty to fighting for his mentor requite the owes he feels towards the veteran.

While he fights for Katsuie's sake, he chosen to leave the area after he is push into protection of his friendship with Hideyoshi. Years later, Hideyoshi's unification of the worlds is ended, Toshiie last seen to grief out of Hideyoshi's death, he sorrows to condolence him alongside with Ieyasu and Mitsunari. He also died of illness which the Western Army and Eastern Army are set up to the greatest wars.

Samurai Warriors 5[]

Toshiie first appearance as an childhood friend of Nobunaga and his brother Nobuyuki although he is refers to be barbarian in Japan. In early battles of the story, he is best known as the 'Mighty spear Mataza' with Nobunaga considered him as Mataza in their youthful days.

Upon this way, Nobunaga later appointed as the lord of Owari, the pair tried to finds or defended Ieyasu, the lord of Mikawa now-hostage of the Imagawa for themselves in the future fight against Yoshimoto. Finally, Nobuyuki disgust to stand up to his brother, and Toshiie sides with Nobunaga and introduces Hideyoshi to help wipe out the rebellion.

To be angered by Nobunaga's deal with his brother's fate, Toshiie leaves after refused to executed Nobuyuki's child. Although he happy to see Katsuie surrender to the Oda favor. Throughout the game, Toshiie following the Oda to join in the most battles, including Okehazama, Kyoto, Anegawa, Nagashino, and Tedorigawa.
