Tostarenans are a minor race of fun-loving skeletal people that appear Super Mario Odyssey. They reside in the town of Tostarena in the Sand Kingdom and mostly benefit from tourism who come to inspect the ancient sculptures.
They are based of the Skeletal figures from the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos.
Tostarenans are a colorful race of skeletal-like people that wear traditionally Mexican style clothing, such as sombreros and ponchos.
The main recognizable trait in their appearance apart from their clothing is their skull heads, that are seen being either blue or green with swirl-like pink shapes on their cheeks. Their eye socket also has a pink color around it and their eyes themselves are black but have flower pedals as pupils in it.
They are rather small in height, around the size of Mario. Their small figures along with their colorful looks make them look like a cheery group of people.
Personality[]
Even taken their looks aside, the Tostarenans present themselves as a fun-loving, jolly, warm and friendly group of people. They are also rather talkative, as they like to give information about the ancient buildings to tourists, which is the Sand Kingdom's main service.
Just like the other friendly inhabitants in the game, they help out Mario by giving him simple hints.
