Trap Stilton is one of the tritagonists (alongside Benjamin Stilton) of the Geronimo Stilton franchise. He is the cousin of Geronimo Stilton, owner of the shop Cheap Junk for Less, and a practical joker.
He was voiced by Richard Ian Cox.
Description[]
Trap is obnoxious, loud and lazy. He frequently jokes around and plays pranks, especially on Geronimo. His jokes sometimes can be cruel or come at an inappropriate time. Trap also loves eating. He usually eats Geronimo's food and is thinking or talking about food. He believes he is a great cook, which Geronimo disagrees with. Aside from food, Trap always wants money as well. Trap is at times jealous when he sees Geronimo being very successful, to the point of deliberately getting him in trouble.
For all his annoying traits, he often does not mean harm and regrets it when he goes too far. Although Trap is often at odds with them, he cares about Geronimo, Thea and Benjamin, as well as many others. Trap has many friends in New Mouse City, where he also owns the thrift store Cheap Junk for Less.
Trivia[]
- There are differences in Trap's characteristics, as well as in his family's reactions to his behavior, between the books and the animated series.
- He is brave and bold during risky situations in the books, while in the TV show he is easily frightened, much like Geronimo in the books.
- Although in the books he is not very smart, he had some sense of reason. In the cartoon, he is significantly more foolish and often endangers himself and everyone around with his antics.
- In the books, while his jokes and pranks are constantly a nuisance to Geronimo, nearly everyone else finds them funny. When he causes trouble, Geronimo usually gets hurt as a consequence and blamed for it instead of Trap. In the TV series, the others have far less patience with his antics and are quick to call him out or punish him. Geronimo also expresses his frustration with Trap more openly and is more willing to confront him, whereas in the books he was more tolerant. Trap usually responds by cowardly retreating or petulantly resisting until he must concede.
