Trigger is the tritagonist of the third Goosebumps book, "Monster Blood". He is Evan Ross's pet dog that ate a little bit of the green slime kmowm as Monster Blood, and became a giant dog. He also appears with basically the same role in its TV adaptation. He also a major protagonist in the sequels
Monster Blood[]
Trigger is Evan's pet dog, who was ent along with him to live a couple weeks with Evan's great-aunt, Kathryn. Kathryn had a cat, Sarabeth, which who Trigger tried to fight against, and because of this, he was put outside by Kathryn. Evan thougth of Trigger as his only distraction before he met a girl in th neighbourhood named ANdy. Andy and Evan bought a can of a slimy toy called Monster Blood. While Evan and Andy were playing with it outside, Trigger ate a little bit of the toy when it came near him, much to Evan's worry. In the next days, Trigger started growing abnormally, and so was the Monster Blood. Evan even went to the vet to see if Trigger was okay. After that, he went out with Trigger to get an ice cream, but was peaked up by the local bullies, the Beyner Twins. Trigger, however, now bigger than a pitbull, growled to, and attacked the twins, scaring them away.
In the next days, Trigger started growing even more, and while he and Andy tried to contain and get rid of Monster Blood, it suddently came to life and attacked the kids. It chased them to Kathryn's house, in which Evan discovered that Kathryn's cat, Sarabeth, was in fact a witch, and that cursed the MOnster Blood to kill the children, as they could affect her plan of enslaving Kathryn negativilly. They also discovered that the garden's hedge was destroyed, and Trigger wasn't there anymore. And right before the Monster Blood was about to consume and kill Evan and Andy, a now giant Trigger appeared, and attacked Sarabeth with its pawn, pulling the witch to her own Monster Blood, which consumed and destroyed her, and as its own curser was killed, the Monster Blood got back to its normal size, and so did Trigger.
Personality[]
Despite being disobedient to Evan most of the time, he is very loyal to Evan, attacking people who try to harm him
