Trip the Sungazer is the deuteragonist of the 2023 video game Sonic Superstars. She is an anthropomorphic sungazer lizard who resides on Northstar Island. In her debut game, she is forced to assist Dr. Eggman and Fang to guide them across the archipelago.
Appearance[]
Throughout the majority of the game, Trip is seen with a body covered in rusted armor, with only her tan arms and striped orange and brown tail exposed. Without her armor, she is revealed to have orange and red scales and a round head.
Personality[]
Trip is timid, helpful, and prone to clumsiness. The armor she wears not only protects her from stumbling, but it is also used to hide her face due to shyness. Trip was submissive after meeting the likes of Fang and Dr. Eggman, however she eventually stands up against them after receiving much torment from the villains, mainly Fang, eventually proving herself by beating the evil jerboa.
Powers and Abilities[]
Trip can spin jump which looks like she is spinning in a circle instead of curling up into a ball. She can also double jump which makes her into a spiky circle that allows her to climb walls and ceilings.

- Her jump might be inspired by the Golden Armadillo girdled lizard making its body into a circle when it bites it tail.
- Her jumping animation also greatly resembles the one Vector the Crocodile has in Knuckles' Chaotix.
