There are mysteries that cannot be buried... And there are destinies that cannot be avoided.
~ Quan's introduction.

Trung Quan Nguyen (styled Nguyễn Trung Quân in Vietnamese) is the main protagonist of Vietnamese Tokusatsu series Mighty Guardian: Lost Avian.

He is a troubled teenage tour worker who found himself being the vessel to Hung King XVIII in order to combat the forces of darkness in the present days.

He is potrayed by Vietnamese actor Tran Kien ("Kiên Trần").

History[]

Origin[]

Quan lost his mother at a young age, and his father, who is known as a archaeologist working for the Ngoc De Corporation died mysteriously at Tan Vien Mountain. Driven by suspicion, Quan became a tour guide at Tan Vien, hoping to uncover the truth.

Awakening[]

One day, he followed a Ngoc De vehicle into the forest and stumbled upon a secret cave containing ancient devices and a strange stone block. When he touched the block, a monstrous serpent appeared and killed a guard.

Terrified, Quan fled but later returned, only to be accused of theft by Truc Han Luu. That night, they were attacked by a Ghoul. Quan was knocked unconscious as he black out the entire night.

Revelation[]

In the following days, Quan and Han investigated a string of murders linked to a monster called the Wicked Rooster. During a rescue attempt, Quan was again knocked out—only to awaken and learn that he was the legendary Golden Warrior. Denying this truth, he tried to walk away.

Later, he faced the Wicked Ape and was nearly killed—until his body transformed and fought back. In a vision, Quan met Hùng Duệ Vương (Hung King XVIII), who explained that Quan had accidentally broken an ancient seal, releasing the monsters. The king was using Quan’s body to fight them as a paid-off before he can found a rightful heir to the powers of Lost Avian. Until then, Quan reluctantly agreed to serve as his vessel.

Broken[]

Battles wore Quan down. His studies failed, job prospects vanished, and he lost control of his own life. In a disastrous fight against the Wicked Corvus and two Ant monsters, he was beaten nearly to death. Afterward, he begged Hùng Duệ Vương to let him live in peace.

Even so, he instinctively saved others when danger struck, haunted by nightmares of monsters thanking him for their freedom. Sơn, Han's contact and descendant of Son Tinh, revealed that only the Heart of Avian and Divine Relics could stop the monsters—and that Quan, not Sơn, was the true chosen one.

Accepting and Confronting Fate[]

When monsters took hostages, Han begged Quan for help. He returned to fight, was poisoned by the Wicked Centipede, and slipped into a coma. In the mindscape, the Hung King praised Quan’s bravery and offered him a choice: walk away or accept his destiny.

Quan chose to fight. Empowered by his will, he transformed with his own command: “Armor Summon.” Now fully recognized as Mighty Guardian: Lost Avian XIX, he defeated the monster. Later, Sơn pledged his full support, marking the beginning of Quan’s new role as protector of the realm.

Personality[]

Trung appears as a troubled figure, mostly contributed to his past losing both of his parents and living as an orphan. Despite so, he seemed to care about the lives of the other and tries his best when the situations call for it. His biggest hold back come from his reluctancy to take action in any situations, leading to problems swarming up his life and put him a bad light.

In the end, though-Trung genuinely decide to take up responsibility to fight against the evil forces, in order to protect the innocence and those he cared for, showing trait of selflessness and bravery.

Trivia[]

  • Trung Quan Nguyen's acting in the show is considerably rough and sometimes comes off campy, but this is more due to the fact that this is the writer debut work, leading to cartoon-ish dialogues and the potrayal of the actor himself. This lead to several memes and jokes on the shows acting inside the community.
