Tsubasa Yuunagi (夕凪ツバサ?) is one of the five characters and cures in Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure. He is a bird fairy who, like Sora Harewataru, originally lived in Sky Land before the two of them found themselves on Earth. He was a member of the Puni Bird Tribe prior to ending up on Earth.
Biography[]
When he was younger, Tsubasa fell off of the back of a passenger bird he and his father were riding on, only for his father to save him. Ever since then, Tsubasa has dreamed of being able to fly for himself. His efforts eventually landed him in Sorashido City, where he was encountered and taken in by Yoyo, where he studied aerodynamics.
Tsubasa tried to help Princess Ellee upon seeing her falling over, only to be caught by Sora after having previously avoided her. Tsubasa attempted to escape but was caught by Sora anyway, to whom he explained to Sora (along with Mashiro) how he ended up in the city and living with Yoyo. While initially distrustful of him, Sora later grows fond of him after being shown Tsubasa's study room by Yoyo (where Tsubasa dditonally explained his past life to Sora).
Upon Kabaton summoning a Ranborg, Tsubasa tried his best to keep Ellee-chan from following Cure Sky and Prism and even attempts to fly to do so, but ultimately fails. He instead decides to roll to get to Ellee-chan, where he confronted Kabaton before being assisted by Ellee-chan. Tsubasa in then captured by Kabaton but discarded after the villain took ahold of Ellee-chan. But Tsubasa, still having his sling bag, infiltrated the Ranborg's body while in his human form in order to rescue Ellee-chan. Once Tsubasa got to the edge of the Ranborg, he told Ellee-chan to save herself. Ellee-chan refuses, leading to Tsubasa he tried to escape using the sling bag, but let go thanks to it not being fast enough to guide him to safety. Thankfully, he is saved by Ellee-chan after being set falling before she too was captured by Ranborg. Tsubasa's desperation to save Ellee-chan causes him to obtain a Sky Mirage and Ellee-chan to give him the Sky Tone Wing, allowing him to become Cure Wing. After saving Ellee-chan, Sky and Prism arrive to help Wing purify the Ranborg.
Personality[]
Tsubasa is a hardworking and serious young boy. He cares greatly for Ellee-chan and almost everything he does if for her sake. Tsubasa deeply yearns to be able, having spent years studying in order to learn how. He's also rather hard to read and has troubles communicating his emotions towards others. He also very much wishes to be independent and greatly dislikes others treating him like he's helpless and pushing him around. However, Tsubasa has a special type of gratitude for people who put their faith in him and trusts them.
