Tsuruno Yui is one of the five main protagonists in Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica Side Story.
Appearance[]
Tsuruno has hazelnut brown hair that she normally wears in a side ponytail held up by a hair clip. She also has orange eyes.
As a Magical Girl, she wears a orange crop top with white-trimmed flared sleeves beneath a white sleeveless crop top with yellow accents and a pair of thin brown one-looped ribbons on both sides and short orange skirt, she is adorned by a golden waist chain decorated with rubies and a piece of yellow-trimmed white fabric hanging from the front and a pale orange loincloth composed of two massive ribbons tied into a bow at the top. She wears asymmetrical pieces of cloth around her wrists and ankles, and a pair of brown wedge sandals lined with tiny bits of yellow. She wears earrings that dangle from her ears with a long, orange, oval-shaped gem dangling from it. Her ponytail is now held in place by a flower-shaped hairpin. She wields two matching orange, pointed, iron fans as weapons in battle.
As Uwasa Tsuruno, her outfit remains largely unchanged, but it now carries a bright jade-green color scheme with an mosaic pattern on it. Her hair is now also a bright mint green shade while her eyes are now a dark pink, as opposed to her normal form.
Personality[]
An impulsive, upbeat, friendly and selfless girl with a good sense of humor, Tsuruno is incredibly has ambitious when it comes to her family's Chinese restaurant. As shown when Iroha didn't describe her meals as anything spectacular when she first stopped by, shocking Tsuruno greatly. Tsuruno loves her family deeply, especially her grandfather and great-grandfather, who were responsible for cultivating the family's reputation in the first place. With her family's once great name having eroded considerably, Tsuruno now fights to become the strongest Magical Girl in order to restore the Yui name.
But under her determined and optimistic personality, Tsuruno has insecurities she keeps from others and often feels helpless and vulnerable as a result of Mel Anna's death. She forces herself to put on a cheerful and strong facade so people will stick around and to keep up her image as an example to Magical Girls of Kamihama.
