Tsuyoshi Nagumo is the deuteragonist of Sega's 2016 beat 'em up video game Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
He was an orphan child who was adopted by Toru Hirose. When he grew up, he became the captain of his family. During the game, he started off as an antagonistic jerk to Kiryu, however, as the game progressed and Kiryu's willing to reform people, he started to be a much kinder and more reasonable person, as well as becoming an oath brother of the legend himself.
He was modeled after and voiced by Hiroyuki Miyasako.
Appearance[]
Nagumo is a man of above average height and a stocky build. His hair is short and black with shaved sides and back. He also has a noticeable mole on his left cheek, as well as a goatee with a light mustache. Nagumo wears a blue floral shirt, with beige plaid pants. He also wears them along with white shoes and gold chain.
Personality[]
At first, Nagumo seemed to be a short-tempered man who behaved like a jerk towards people, especially with many encounters against Kiryu in the first time. However, deep down, he was a really caring person who tend to care for his subordinates like his younger brothers. After various encounters with Kiryu, he renounced his jerkishness and started to show his true nature more dominantly.
He was also an extremely loyal friend and ally who was ready to let himself at risk just to save other people and his loved ones. With many threats he encountered, he never gave up and was ready to fulfill Kiryu's goals of taking them down and to keep the civilians safe.
Abilities[]
He had a strong physical build, which helped him fight against many enemies, especially at the end when he fought many yakuza thugs alongside Kiryu and his friends in the Millennium Tower. Another fun fact about him was that he was the only character who could counter Tiger Drop, which was considered Kiryu's most powerful and invincible technique. Out of all characters who called Kiryu "aniki", Nagumo seemed to be the strongest one.
He was also known as a baseball expert. as he had practiced baseball many times and encountered Kiryu in doing so.
Trivia[]
- Nagumo shares the same voice actor to another character whose first name is also "Tsuyoshi", who is none other than Tsuyoshi Kanda.
