Biography[]

Legend of a Rabbit[]

Tu'er is introduced as a humble shaobing baker and salesman. One evening on the way home, he bumped into a monkey called Shifu, who takes him to his house, where he reveals that he is already dying from his injuries after being poisoned by Slash, a traitorous disciple of his who wanted to take the tablet for himself in a previous fight. Before he passes on, he magically transfers his knowledge to Tu'er and tells him to look for the Tiger hermitage in Beijing as well as giving the tablet to his daughter Peony. After a long journey, he eventually meets her alongside another one of Shifu's disciples, another rabbit named Biggie, who save Tu'er from a pair of bandits. Once Tu'er reaches the city, he finds the Tiger hermitage alongside the disciples who were also looking for Shifu. Carried away by guards, Tu'er stumbles inside, accidentally seeing a job vacancy to which he applies to be an assistant chef to work there. However, Slash and his men have taken over the hermitage for themselves so he broke one of the plates he was supposed to serve to them out of frustration. To avoid embarrassing himself further, he decides to put on a drama show, but then gets told that Peony's name is strictly forbidden from being mentioned or else Slash will kill him.

Tu’er eventually works his way out of the hermitage and notices some animals practicing kung fu. Trying to pass, he accidentally breaks a pile of crockery he is carrying and gets humiliated on site. Peony infiltrates the place and finds that Slash lied to her about the circumstances of Shifu's death and now he wants steal the tablet from her and claim leadership of the hermitage, but manages to escape with Biggie's help. Tu'er, hearing Biggie's cries for help, takes the disciples to safety and becomes their caretaker. Returning to the hermitage, Tu'er received news of the infiltrators and on that night was told in his dreams by Shifu to use his kung fu powers to find his daughter. Enlightened upon discovery of his hidden powers, he decides to hone his kung fu movements. Tu'er goes to tell a recovered Peony about his original mission to look for her, but she feels betrayed upon being told that Tu'er is employed under the hermitage. Confused, he goes on to look for her, but doesn’t realise he is tailed by Slash's goons who found out that he's hiding Peony. They take Tu'er to be locked in the dungeon and by the next day held a tournament to decide the next master.

The audience was left in disappointment when Slash announced he replaced the medal given to the winner with a new one, so he dares them to try to fight him if they disagree, and if they defeat him, he would step down as the hermitage head. Though he managed to defeat several combatants, he was no match for Peony. Slash decides to play dirty by bringing his men to subdue her. Tu'er, overhearing all the fighting, uses his powers to break from the cell, and summons a cyclone at the site of the arena. Tu'er tries to give Peony back the tablet, only for Slash to try to snatch it for himself. After a lengthy battle, he throws the tablet at Slash's sword, shattering it, but before Slash can claim the medal, Tu'er manages to defeat him and his men with his powers. With the audience enthralled by his superhuman feats, Tu'er returns the medal to Peony. In the end, Tu'er answers to Peony that he'll rather remain a humble baker than to be a kung fu master, but they get back in action upon hearing a call for help.

Legend of a Rabbit: The Martial of Fire[]

Tu'er eventually trains his kung fu skills and rescues the injured warrior which turns out to be the evil warlord Zhan who wants to acquire the eponymous Martial of Fire from Lan of the Huell clan and take over the world of martial arts. Zhan takes advantage of Tu'er's powers that he inherited from Shifu as he can cross the barrier between the Martial and temple. Failing to save Lan, Fu only realises he is just a lucky one who got to inherit Shifu's knowledge, so he goes and train with Peony and Lan. Biggie joins into stop Zhan, only for the latter to push him down the temple grounds. An enraged Tu'er manages to knock out Zhan, but he then begins draining energy from the Martial, only for it to shatter into pieces where he perished along with it, due to possessing a lack of love in his heart. The sequel ends cold there, where it is revealed that Biggie survived the fall from before and the heroes celebrate with a dance number.
