The Turbines are a subsidiary of Teiwaz and a heroic faction in Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS.
History[]
The Turbines were founded by Naze Turbine and Amida Arca as a way to save women who were in danger of being trafficked by marrying them off to Naze, making them more of a large family than anything else. The Turbines soon became a refuge for women who were lost and by themselves to go and quickly grew very large, eventually signing on to become a subsidiary of Teiwaz. The Turbines vast influence over critical trade routes made them a key part of Teiwaz and Naze soon grew close to Teiwaz's leader McMurdo Barriston.
However, envious of Naze's relationship with McMurdo and scheming to make himself the sole successor of Teiwaz, Jasley Donomikals conspired with Iok Kujan of Gjallarhorn to bring an end to the Turbines. He planted an illegal Dainsleif weapon aboard a Turbines transport and tipped Gjallarhorn off about it, letting them intercept the transport and use it as justification to declare the Turbines an illegal organization. The Turbines were forced to withdraw as a Teiwaz subsidiary because and were pursued by a Gjallarhorn fleet led by Iok Kujan, which had mobilized to shut them down.
After having his crew evacuate the ship in escape pods, Naze attempted to peacefully surrender, but Iok ignored his attempts to call for peace and ordered his forces to fire Dainsleifs on the Turbines ship and the escape pods leaving it. Luckily, Tekkadan showed up just in time to defend the Turbines from Iok's assault and protect the fleeing civilians. Amida Arca chose to stay behind with her husband and help him fight off the Gjallarhorn forces. After Amida perished in battle, Naze attempted a suicide run on Iok's fleet, taking out one of his frigates.
Following Naze's death, Jasley had Lafter Frankland assassinated in a bid to get the surviving Turbines to submit to his "protection", but the Turbines saw through his ruse. Jasley was later killed by Tekkadan as vengeance for Naze.
Some time following Naze's death, Azee Gurumin adopted a look similar to his and became leader of a new group formed out of the Turbines that had apparently signed on to Teiwaz.
