The Ubuyashiki Family are the overarching protagonists (alongisde Yoriichi Tsugikuni) of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise.
They are an ancient noble family who are responsible for founding and leading the Demon Slayer Corps in their efforts to defeat the demons, led by the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji. As of now, the family consists of seven members of the clan, with Kagaya Ubuyashiki as the head of the family.
Personalities[]
The personalities for each of the members differ from each other. However, all of them are really calm and quiet, even towards demons. And unlike most of the Hashiras, they don’t show resentment towards Nezuko, Kagaya in particular, despite her being a demon.
History[]
The history of the Ubuyashiki clan is quite unsatisfying; they are biologically related to Muzan, and many of their children, including Kagaya, were born with severe body illnesses. This is most likely because Muzan, their ancestor murdered his doctor who tried to cure him. As for Kagaya, the purple parts on the faces tends to spread more when his illness doesn’t heal.
Physical Appearances[]
Each Ubuyashiki looks different within each other. However, with Kagaya and Amane’s genetics, all men have black hair and all women have white hair. Amane and Kagaya also seem to wear coats for most of the time with Kagaya wearing a white to dark purple and pink mixed one and Amane wearing a blue one. The children, including Kiriya when in disguise, wears a purple kimono. Few of them wear hairpins too.
Trivia[]
- Out of Kagaya’s immediate members, Kiriya is the only son and the only one that is still alive.
