Ultraman Mebius (ウルトラマンメビウス Urutoraman Mebiusu) is the titular main protagonist in the same title, as well as being the 20th installment of the Ultraman franchise during it's 40th anniversary. He is also the main protagonist in Ultraman Mebius and the Ultra Brothers, a major character in Great Decisive Battle! Superior 8 Ultra Brothers, and the deuteragonist in Ultraman Mebius Gaiden: Ultraman Hikari. He would later return as one of the major (yet important) characters in Ultraman Ginga S the Movie: Showdown! The 10 Ultra Warriors! and then as one of the major characters in Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy.
Mebius is a loyal, selfless, kind, friendly, and well-learning young ultraman who was chosen as the new protector of the Earth and was the tenth Ultra from the Land of Light. He currently resides on the Land of Light, assisting the Ultra Brothers. He was the student of Ultraman Taro, a member of Team Crew GUYS, and the archenemy of Alien Empera, the franchise's overarching antagonist.
He was portrayed by Shunji Igarashi for his human form, Mirai Hibino, and as well as his voice in the original series while in the Ultraman Ginga S Movie. His voice actor is Jun Fukuyama. While his suit actors are Sanshiro Wada, Kei Iwata Sakae, Satoshi Yamamoto, and Hideyoshi Iwata (the suit actor for Mebius' Burning Brave and Phoenix Brave formes).
Personality[]
As both himself and his human form, Mebius is a very kind and loyal individual of a giant who is very friendly towards others and is willing to fight in order to protect those he had cared for. He can also be easily naive and admiring as he is moved by everything and treasures life at its most heart to heart moments when it comes to the times he spent with his friends, including Ryu Aihara.
He is also well-known to be self-learning as he continues studying the life of humans while in his human form, the more he learned about earth and its people, the more he begins to see the beauty in everything, giving Mebius more reason to protect the planet from dangerous threats and enemies such as Bogal and Yapool.
Mebius is never quick to anger and obviously has hold no hatred towards humanity. However, it is necessary if he were to defend someone who was being hurt or being used (such as the time he got mad at Konomi's childhood friend to using her as a sudden material to gain his fame back) and would scold them off to let them realize their wrongdoings. Even when he is being picked on or beaten by someone (Such as Hirukawa for example, who was cruel to him during their time in Yapool's dimension), he still doesn't hold a grudge towards the said person and would instead not react with violence but tells them to realize what they've done.
He also holds most great respect for his Brothers, including his mentor Ultraman Taro, and even towards his elders, such as Hiroto Ban's father. He shows his loyalty and concerning towards others, making sure they are never harmed (that happened when he showed concerns for Aide Toriyama's sickness: even though he faked it).
He is also very forgiving towards others and wishes for them to have become better people, such as Hunter Knight Tsurugi when he faced a tragedy of failing to protect Planet Aarb from Bogal which resulted in sworing to avenge them through embracing hate, Mebius tried to help others and reach them out, but even if they don't accept it, there was a lesson Mebius had to learn from one of his brothers that not everyone can be saved but it takes time when that responsibility comes.
After his entire experience on earth and all of the memories, hardships, and bonding he did together with Team Crew GUYS and everyone else, Mebius became more mature but still yet the kind, friendly, and selfless individual he is.
Powers and Abilities[]
Ordinary Abilities:[]
- Extraordinary Jumper: Mebius' reflexes and timing has some little trouble jumping through greater heights. However, with the help from Ultraman Leo training him, his jumping started to improve better than before.
- Teleportation: He can teleport across very long distances ans destinations, though Mebius never loses energy while doing this.
- Mebius Defensircle: Otherwise known as the Mebius Defense Arc, Mebius has an ability to create a barrier made of four Mebius strips (infinity loops to be percise) interlocked.
- Travel: He can encase himself into a sphere made of red energy.
- Twinkle Ray: An ability to create a wormhole to revisit the Land of Light or any destination he wishes to travel towards.
- Digitize: He can enter into any computer-created world by turning into energy himself then entering the computer system under the process.
- Size Change: He can shrink or enlarge himself.
- Ultra Psychokinesis: This was a power he was taught by Ultraseven, Mebius has the ability to perform Psychic movements.
- Form Change: Mebius has the willing to change his form through to Brave form and Burning Brave.
- Ultra Overlapping: When merged with the Ultra Brothers, he can activate his Infinity form. This method of an ability can also be used to activate his Phoenix Brave form when merged with the rest of Crew GUYS and Ultraman Hikari together.
- Crossover Formation: A same ability and power shared with the rest of the Heisei Ultras to boost their abilities and signature shooting techniques.
- Power Transfer: Mebius can transfer his said powers and abilities to the Next Generation of Ultramen. Such as Ginga for example.
- Super Power: When activating Burning Brave form, its ability enhances Mebius' strength, speed, and agility drastically. Mebius also has the endurance to be impervious to higher temperatures.
- Beam Reversal: When in Phoenix Brave, he can reflect and reverse the aim of any kind of beam/ray attack upon the impact he took.
- Barrier: Can create a high amount of light to surround his body to reflect any attack coming near him.
- Saving Circle: When in Infinity form, he can create a type of travel sphere capable of protecting other beings such as humans.
Techniques/Physical and Special Attacks:[]
Special (Normal form)[]
- Mebium Shoot: Mebius' signature attack, can fire out a blasting ray with a temperature of 100,000 °C.
- Powered Up Mebium Shoot: A more drastically enhanced version of the Mebium Ray when joined up with the Crossover Formation.
- Mebium Blade: Mebius can create a Blade from his Mebium Brace that is made from yellow energy, the blade is so sharp it can cut through monsters/aliens with ease.
- Mebium Slash: He can launched an all-out arrow-shaped, missile-like energy blasts from the Mebium Blade itself.
- Lightning Counter: It is the same as the Mebium Shoot, however, there's a difference. Mebius can charge a powerful energy beam of lightning in an infinity pattern via punch whenever he spins the crystal of the Mebium Brace.
- Lightning Counter Zero: It is a different version of the original Lightning Counter. Instead of shooting out a beam, Mebius can use its amount of energy through a punch and unleashes it.
- Mebium Pinger: Mebius can emit a yellow-energized wave rings from his palm, it has the ability to dispel any type of illusions or undo disguises.
- Mebium Charge: Mebius can charge a highly amount of energy into his fist and spins it in high agility, creating some sort of energy rings.
- Mebium Pitfall: Mebius can immediately gather enough energy from his Brace to slam its amount onto the ground, creating a pitfall to hinder his opponent's attacks.
Physical (Normal form):[]
- Mebius Punch: Mebius can charge an amount of energy into his fists that delivers a powerful flame punch, it can also be used on ground to bring upon a powerful shock wave.
- Mebius Kick: this move is considered to be an ordinary but simple flying jump kick from above.
- Meteor Kick: Bares a similarity to one of Ultraman Jack's moves. This move is used to jump over any barrier-like moves and strike out the opponent.
- Mebiuspin Kick: After learning from Ryu's advice and some training done with Leo, Mebius can rotate himself around to produce a mass amount of flames while peforming the kick in the sky firstly.
- Mebius Chop: A simple chop that can cut and slash through from crown to head.
- Lightning Slasher: It shares the same actions as the Mebium Shoot but instead Mebius can coat his hands together with the energy he gathered to form an arrow-shape formation to enhance the destructive power he holds on his arms together.
- Mebium Power Lift: Mebius uses this skill to lift any heavy kaiju/seijin opponent up into the sky then either throws or slams them into land again.
- Giant Mebiuswing: Mebius locks both his arms with the opponent's together and uses all of his strength to throw his opponent through the momentum then air spins them.
- Mebius Dynamite: An attack that shares the same quirk as Ultraman Taro's Ultra Dynamite. Mebius can engulf flames around himself and then tackles his opponent, results into exploding when made contact. However, this attack greatly decreases Mebius' powers.
Weapons (Brave form):[]
- Mebium Knight Blade: it is the enhanced version of the original Mebium Blade that holds the same designs and traits as Hunter Knight Tsurugi's Knight Beam Blade.
- Variable Blade Size: Mebius can expand size the blade on his left arm, even more longer than the normal Mebium Blade.
- Blade Overload: Once it reaches to its maximum limit, with the blade more longer than an excalibur. Mebius can easily cut the enemy in one slice from a faraway distance.
- Variable Blade Size: Mebius can expand size the blade on his left arm, even more longer than the normal Mebium Blade.

Trivia[]
- Mebius is considered to be the youngest ultraman in the franchise so far, currently because from his first debut of his respective era, his human form, Mirai Hibino, is at the age of 18.
- It has been theorized by fans sometime after watching Ultraman Taiga, that Mebius is actually Ultraman Tregear, probably corrupted and became evil unknowingly. However, it was later debunked and has no confirmation whether it is true or not despite it was never discussed about. Unfortunately, there have been signs showing it was true:
- Both of their appearances are quite similar because the close-up of Tregear's face and head shape matches Mebius'.
- Tregear was said to be a former friend of Ultraman Taro before becoming evil in the first place without an unknown reason, but this may hint the connection of Mebius and Taro's relationship as both student and teacher.
- However, with the announcement of Ultra Galaxy Fight: the Absolute Conspiracy featuring Mebius, it has proven that Mebius is not Tregear after all, with the said theory now debunked.
- He is the first Heisei Ultraman to have more than just three forms regarding his Normal, Brave, and Burning Brave forms. Unlike Ultraman Tiga and the other Heisei Ultras, Mebius has access to his two final forms, such as Phoenix Brave and Infinity (though it requires a merge fusion with Hikari and the Ultra Brothers).
