When Emilia attacks Anos's mother when she refuses to surrender her son's sword, they risk life and limb to protect her which lead to them being mortally wounded. Fortunately Anos arrived in time to constrict Emilia so she can neither move nor cast magic. He also heals Emilia's victims in this incident before warping the xenophobic teacher to the arena and kill her there in order to have her reincarnate as a hybrid.
