Meanwhile, Tank encounters Mace, who knocks Tank down and snatches his gun, and opens fire on him. Ghost comes too late to save him. At the same time, Templar wounds Soap with a throwing knife and briefly enters a standoff with Captain Price before escaping in a chopper. Ghost and Adler have a conversation about the ongoing war, As Ghost feels sad about not saving Tank and in fact they don't have time for Intel. Adler tells him by saying that they do have intel and mention that there's a place in Siberia from where Makarov get the Nova Gas from. Then Adler tells Ghost about his friend Stansfield during The Cold War and retrieved intel and later on, Stansfield was shot by Soviet soldiers and Adler could do nothing but watch in horror. Back in the present day, Adler finishes his story by saying that both Stansfield and Tank knew what they were doing, and Ghost and Adler continue their conversation and later Ghost tells Adler by getting the Intel before The Five Knights do. Adler warns Ghost that they cannot risk lose many more men as The Five Knights hit the other bases hard and tells Ghost to be patient. Ghost takes it for an excuse to do nothing and walks away, much to Adler's dismay. Ghost visits Mara who is in a comatose and tells her that he's sorry for not being able to save them. he then promises that he will end this for all and place's Tank's dog tag on her palms before leaving. When Price cannot find Ghost, he comes to Soap asking for his whereabouts. Adler comes to them saying that he knows where Ghost is, and he doing something stupid. When Price asks what Adler has done, he replies that he told him about the operation in Siberia and his loss of his friend, Stansfield.

In Siberia, Ghost arrives via Snowmobile at the Soviet Facility Adler told him about and begins to investigate. He realizes that someone has been here recently opened canned food and a map which is dated around the present. He is then startled by saying: "The enemy of enemy, is my friend." The man turns out to me none other than Makarov. Ghost is shocked to see Makarov still alive, since Mara had confirmed that he had been shot in the head. Makarov explains that Mace also saw him die but appearances and deceiving and that he needed to fake his death since their goals are diverged. Makarov also states that he knows that Ghost has information on how to defeat The Five Knights and that he has it. When questioned about their identity and goals, Makarov says that the knights consist that 5 individuals with different goals but could be useful to each other as he was useful to them, and reveals their identities.

Gabriel T. Rorke being The Head of Mercenaries and Federation, Hidora Kai being The Head of the Corporate Section, Mace only wanting the downfall of the government, Raul Menendez wanting the control of the system by hijacking it and a fifth member whose identity Makarov says will keep to himself, Unless Ghost takes him in, Ghost agrees, and as they exit the facility, Templar appears, blowing Ghost's snowmobile, Ghost tells Makarov to run and fires at Templar. Unfortunately, the bullets cannot penetrate his armor and he mocks Ghost that he should have brought bigger bullets. Templar then throws his knives at Ghost's P90, rendering it unusable. When Ghost attempts to him with the gun, Templar blocks and breaks it.

Ghost then asks who he is, to which Templar gives a short introduction and stabs Ghost with a throwing knife, before executing him by performing Coup De Grace. He then comments that he expected a more equal individual rather than just a "Ghost", then takes Ghost's mask as a souvenir, saying "That's one less loose end". Later on, Price and Soap arrive in a chopper to looking to find Ghost. Soap is surprised at the destruction and replies "What the hell happened here?" They found a folded piece of paper on the ground and they open it and find's Ghost's dog tags. It reveals that Makarov takes Ghost's body, as he is dragging it towards the cliff. Charly, having been only wounded with the knife, figured that Templar wanted her to die slow. As Charly is carried away by Alex and Mara, She tells them that she has blown their chance at stopping Cordis Die. Alex says that she didn't, as they still have one last shot. Their last shot revealed to be Mace, who is still imprisoned. Alex and Mara note that Mace hasn't said anything since Ghost captured him.

Alex and Mara arrived in the cell to visit Mace and they're here to talk and also read his personal file and wanted to grant Mace his freedom, much to Mara's shock. Alex tells him that the UAC and Shepherd needs Mace to help them capture Menendez. Alex drops a Ranger badge, and Mace accepts to join the UAC. In the Raid Mansion, Raul Menendez's Compound, Alex, Mara and Mace infiltrate The Raid and eliminates the guards. However, Mace saves Mara while she was ambushed by The Cordis Die Guard by shooting The Cordis Die Guard. Mace asks Mara if she's good, Mara approves, and they continue their mission. Meanwhile, Menendez on site but in another building, realizes that Mace had betrayed The Five Knights. As a result, he makes haste to exfil in his helicopter while noting that Templar is off site. However, before he can take off, Alex snipes The Helicopter Pilot with his sniper rifle and Alex, Mara and Mace apprehend Menendez while Mace tells Menendez that it's over.

In Mexico, Soap meets up with a DEA/CIA Agent named Rosa who massacred a Drug Cartel. Soap approves of Rosa and her work against various Drug Cartels in the region, After introduces themselves to one another, Soap offers Rosa a job, working alongside The UAC.

After the interrogation, The remaining UAC members hold a mission briefing, where it is revealed that Mara went rogue to uncover what happened to Ghost. There, Price states that Rosa, Charly and Mace will be accompanying Price's Team to Texas. Soap and Alex would be sent to Tokyo, Japan to capture Hidora Kai. In Tokyo, Japan, Alex and Soap infiltrate Hidora Kai's Compound and interrupt his work and apparently houses The Yakuza, forcing him to escape. Hidora Kai orders his henchmen to kill them, he doesn't get too far, later, Alex and Soap knockout Hidora Kai and capture him via exfil vehicle. Hidora Kai's Henchmen relentlessly pursue, along the way, a figure resembling Spectre impales The Getaway Driver with his sword, forcing Alex and Soap to change their plans and steal motorcycles to get to the point, But not before Hidora Kai is captured and knocked out again. Back In Texas, Captain Price, Mace, Rosa and Charly with the Spec Ops Soldiers enter The Texas Facility and also Templar apparently set up a trap for the rest of The UAC Operators who have come to find him. He easily kills the Spec Ops Soldiers accompanying them and engages Price, Mace, Charly and Rosa. He is not alone, However, as his consort, Dame busts through a hidden trapdoor on the ceiling and disarms Charly and Rose of their weapons. After Templar takes away Mace's Machine Gun and throws a knife to Mace's hand just as he did to Ghost, Templar claims to Mace that he was disappointed that Mace betrayed The Five Knights and he is working with The UAC after capturing Menendez, Templar and Dame are able to defeat their foes and soon have them in binds. Templar and Dame check on Captain Price's team, Soon after, Gabriel Rorke appears and meets Captain Price's Team and also knew Mace was working on the winning side with The UAC. Rorke tells The Five Knight that everything's in position. In The Sea, Hidora Kai is being interrogated by General Shepherd, Alex and Soap.

He refuses to reveal the identity of The Fifth Knight, Which only causes the trio to more irritation. Instead, he tells them that they should be more concerned about their team in Texas. Shepherd mocks Hidora Kai saying that things won't end like Hidora Kai thinks it would, at a point where Vagr's armada gets spotted and the alarm goes off, Hidora Kai then mocks back at General Shepherd saying that it is he who has the wrong idea. As the attack begins, Alex admits that they are outnumbered and outgunned. Soap orders Modir to call off her men, but she refuses.

Her Wolf attacks Soap, giving her the opportunity to catch him off guard and push him off the ship. She then tackles Alex and goes inside, only to find General Shepherd holding Hidora Kai hostage on Gunpoint. Back in Texas, Price says he's tired of The Five Knights, and mocks Rorke for being a puppet. Rorke replies that as long as there is a cash flow, he doesn't mind being one. Mace manages to break the pipe he was cuffed to, and attacks Rorke with it. Rosa also breaks out of her cuff, but before she can do anything, Rorke tackles Mace and throws him onto her. Having had enough toying with them, Rorke draws his gun to Captain Price's head and demands to know where Adler's location, But the latter reveals at the facility's entrance. Rorke mocks hm for coming to him so soon and for only bringing backup. But then Adler says that he's bought an old friend. The old friend revealed to be Ghost, still alive and accompanied by The Ghosts and Riley. His arrival shocks everyone present, including Templar, as he says his famous line, "You can't kill a Ghost".

Ghost tells Templar that he has a score to settle, as Templar agrees and throws a knife at him, but he catches it and swivels it around his wrist before he throws it back, hitting Rorke in the arm. Ghost then orders his fellow Ghosts to secure Rorke and the facility while he deals with Templar. Rorke, deciding to exfil, tells Dame to accompany him to an underground bunker where he intends to exfil via helicopter, all while unaware that Adler is in the bunker waiting for them. In the meantime, Ghost and Templar engage in a vicious duel, while Rosa sets about freeing Price, Charly and Mace. Mace then joins the battle against Templar, blindsiding as he knocks over Ghost. Back in the sea, Soap is helped back by Alex who threw him a rope. In the ensuring melee, Vagr Modir has managed to free Hidora Kai from Shepherd's grasp and has already escaped their ship. Alex and Soap witnessed the Ghosts Ship firing and decimated upon Vagr Modir's Fleet, They enter the cabin and see General Shepherd tied up and ordered them to find them as they make their escape. However, Hidora Kai remarks things aren't looking good for them, Vagr Modir is confident that they won't be stopped. During their duel, Ghost mentions about The Dark Covenant and addresses Édouard, which annoys and agitates him. Now double teamed by the Two Skull Masked Operators, Templar fends off Mace by throwing knives into his forearms but gets thwarted by Ghost before he can use his last one on him. Ghost manages to throw Templar to the ground and attempts to use the same coup de grace that he used on him, but it fails and Templar kicks him aside. Mace states that he can't move his arms, Templar states that he had struck his nerve clusters and he'll recover in a minute, while its just him and Ghost for now. Meanwhile, Rorke is shot in the ear while making his way to the helicopter by Adler. Rorke orders Dame to kill Adler, which Dame expresses pleasure in doing so, Adler tells her to come and get him. Mace tells Ghost that he's on his own as he hasn't recovered his arms, So Templar continues to furiously fight Ghost, and attempts to stab him in the head, But Ghost blocks his knife with his palm and manages to grab Templar's Arm and break it. He then puts the French Mercenary in a submission hold and prepares to kill him. However, before he can do so, Dame arrives to rescue Templar and kicks Ghost away. She then carries Templar away while Ghost struggles to recover. Rorke makes his escape, But Price notes that his helo isn't a longe one, and that he's most likely headed to somewhere close, a ship, and orders General Shepherd to be ready. Adler finds Ghost and the rest of his group, and prepares to make their way back outside and rendezvous with Price. As they do, however, they see the dead body of Mara, which devastates them and especially Ghost. Dame, Templar, Vagr Modir and Hidora Kai catch up with Rorke on The Five Knights Ship and they discuss, dropped the mines after Vagr Modir's fleet was decimated by The UAC and Ghosts Ships, and they managed to escape. Later on, The UAC and the Group meet back on the Ship where Shepherd is, after they evaded the mines, Adler claims that they don't need to pursue them as he has reached out to some of his connections in South America, and that there's only one place he could be headed to.

Back in The Ghosts Ship, Rosa and Price discuss about the assignment. Price wants Rosa to go to Panama by going Undercover, But she has her misgivings as she has no immediate backup while being in a foreign country. Price notes that Rosa is a skilled fighter, she used to work alone, she can speak the foreign languages and she's also new which means she won't be easily noticed by Rorke. Price tells Rosa that Rorke is working with Rott, an arms dealer operating in Panama and an associate of Rorke's and meet up with him, claiming its bad news. Rosa finally agrees to take on the assignment, but not before demanding that she is given lots of hazard pay. In Panama, Rosa goes undercover and meets with Rott and his mercenaries to burn down one of the buyers who tried to scam him and Rott comments that he likes playing with fire. Rott asks Rosa if she is fine with, and she remarks she suddenly has a craving for bacon, to which Rott replies that he is a vegetarian, But didn't want to waste good murder. Rosa then attempts to make a deal with Rott for some FHJs, Although she attempts to bargain (In reality, She planted a tracker on the container holding the weapons), Rott shuts it down quickly, she agrees the deal, and makes haste to find the intel. Rosa infiltrates the compound and finds the briefcase, But Dame is sent by Rott and ambushes Rosa while requested for exfiltration. She claimed Rosa was smart however she was no match for paranoia. She attempts to kill Rosa with her sword but Rosa guns down Dame, Rott and his mercenaries appeared and try to corner Rosa. Knowing her cover is now blown, She makes haste to exfil, she leaps over the rooftop from the rooftops, Rott suddenly blindsides her, But she manages to hold on to a ledge while Rott falls through debris, Rott's henchmen chasing her on motorcycles, Rosa leaps down and hijacks one of them while eliminating Rott's henchmen. Rosa dives a motorcycle to exfil while Rott chases her, exchanging gunfire, Rosa escapes to the helicopter with Ghost waiting. Ghost manages to grab Rosa mid air and Rott is forced to abandon his pursuit. Ghost is impressed by Rosa's skills, to which she replies that girls got have fun.

Elsewhere, in an unknown building, Hakan "Demir" Pala is dealing with a hostage situation. He dispatches all of the gunmen present, saved the one who has his gun pointed at the hostages. The Gunman threatened to execute them, But Demir does not care and proceeds to kill him and the gunman surrenders. He throws him out of the building and releases all of the hostages. Price and Charly arrived at the scene and meeted Demir and later invited him to join the UAC.

Roach takes out Five Knights Mercenaries before the rest can after proving himself more than useful. Price notes that he is undeniably aggressive. Ghost replies that they lost contact with Squad Delta and makes his way to investigate, and finds Templar after finding a trail of dead bodies. During this time, Templar confronts Dame about Sophia so he can get out of The Five Knights and The Dark Covenant which Dame angrily argues to Templar that Sophia is bound to The Covenant by blood and that she will not be released, instead training to become an operative, much to Templar's disapproval. While arguing, To Dame's surprise, Templar slits his neck, telling her that his strings have been cut and he is no longer a puppet, The Dark Covenant then attacks him, But Templar beats and attacks Dark Rider, Dark Shepherd, Anna "Artery" Buckler and Witch Doctor with minor injuries with a broken visor.

When Ghost finds him, Templar does not attack him and instead gives him a keycard, stating that The Fifth Knight is nearby and This is not my war. Ghost tells Templar what will he do, Templar replies that he will burn The Dark Covenant to the ground. Meanwhile, Captain Price, Soap, Roach, Alex, Rosa, Charly and Demi takes out several Henchmen along the way, with them taking notice of Roach's deadly efficiency. As they blow up and breach the wall, the group manage to evade gunfire. Meanwhile, the group encounter Hidora Kai. After he taunts them, they move in to attack. Demir gets shot while he attempts to shoot Hidora Kai, prompting Rosa to lunge at him. As she taunts Hidora Kai, she kicks away his gun, But he swiftly responds by slashing her across check with his sword, commenting she's not like any other woman she's dealt with. Hidora Kai replies "We're all dead anyway." As Price pursues him, he looks over the wounded Rosa. He asks if she's hurt, she then replies that she'll live, probably. Infuriated and agitated, Price then chases Hidora Kai, before Hidora Kai slices his gun in half.

But Price is able to disarm him of his sword and then uses it to stab Hidora Kai through the torso. As Hidora Kai lays dying, He mocks Price for thinking he has won, saying everything is going dark as he had said. Price, having had enough of Hidora Kai's taunting, proceeds to kill him with his own sword, before he sets eyes on a countdown timer with less than a minute to go. However, The Five Knights are revealed to be retreating, as their forces are being pulled back, and their air and naval forces have been crippled or destroyed, which General Shepherd acknowledges. Ghost then uses a keycard that Templar gave him to unlock the bookshelf door, which leads to a surveillance room, where a man is The Fifth Knight is watching everything transpiring, The Man aka The Fifth Knight laments that despite being control the outcome of the war, he was unable to control Ghost as "You were always a wildcard, son." The Fifth Knight revealed to be Russell Adler, and Ghost was shocked and angered, realized that Adler betrayed the country and The UAC.

Adler retorts his actions were for the good of the country, and asks Ghosts if he knows a "False Flag" scenario is, then explaining that is an attack by a country on itself under the guise of a separate enemy to start a war. Adler then claims that the Soviets are still present and an active threat, and that his goal was to defeat Makarov and other Russian Threats. When Ghost retorts that his actions cause numerous deaths and the crippling of civilization, Adler replies that it was for the country get back its feet stronger than before. He then reveals that he hired Mace to Kill Makarov, which he was able to, Through Makarov had managed to use a body double to deceive them all. Adler then discussed about Menendez, Rorke and Hidora Kai. He also notes that he sent Ghost to Siberia with the same goal in mind, and Templar would kill Makarov if Ghost somehow failed. Instead, Ghost and Templar fought each other, Ghost being left gravely wounded as Templar was unable to find Makarov. Finally, Adler notes the 30,000 men on Blackout Island, and he comments each one of them are heroes.

He then throws a cigarette as he mentions that Ghost himself is a hero, as he begins to pull something out of his jacket, he says that If Adler asked Ghost for one more sacrifice, Ghost would make it. As Adler turns, Ghost shoots him, and he falls off the cliff, revealing that he had pulled out of his jacket. As Adler tumbles off the cliff, Ghost is contacted by Price, who informs Ghost of Nuclear Bombs being launched by The Five Knights. As Ghost demands clarification, Blackout Island erupts into a mushroom cloud as the missile hits. Ghost stares in shock in horror, While Shepherd is also horrified by the loss of 30,000 men, Adler mutters his last words "I won, Perseus."

General Shepherd debriefs Ghost, and tells him that Blackout Island was gone, Adler aka The Fifth Knight was dead and 30,000 men died on the island and the world just watched, and that Ghost could have done more to prevent the disaster. Shepherd then states that because of what Ghost did, someone has to pay the bills, Ghost asks what that means, while Shepherd thinks he had something to do with the Nuclear attack. Shepherd threateningly and firmly tells Ghost to tie up loose ends, or he will. Price interrupts the debriefing and informs Ghost that they are not questioning his loyalty or his judgement, but they are in the dark as they don't know about The Five Knights are really dead, The Dark Covenant, Adler being The Fifth Knight and not knowing about everything and they are looking for some kind of answer. Ghost claims that Adler mentioned Jason Hudson, as part of the last thing he said. Shepherd is still angry and agitated and leaves before Ghost can continue, dismissing what he said as Bullshit. Price however, pleads with Shepherd to let Ghost finish, stating that they are listening.

Ghost says that Adler stated Hudson was funding their operations, directing money from intelligence slush funds. He then asks if it means anything to them, Price replies that it doesn't mean anything to him, But he knows someone that might be interested in it. Noticed by an old friend, Price then sends Ghost to a remote safehouse. Ghost raids the safehouse, but finds the place dark, rummaged and seemingly empty, finding Hudson lying dead on the table with an open bottle of pills beside his head. While searching for evidence, Ghost then finds a piece of paper with the word Stansfield on it. Reporting Back to Base, Ghost tells Price and Shepherd about Stansfield, Adler's operative partner in the past who was apparently killed by Soviet Russian Soldiers during a mission to Siberia. He wonders why would Hudson write the name of an operator who's been dead for 30 years, to which Price replies that maybe their friend can shed some light on it.

However, Reznov arrives and walks in saying that he is apparently useful again. Reznov tells his story to Price, Ghost and Shepherd that he liberated the Nova Gas from the Nazis and rewarded as a hero by his superiors, he was sent to a gulag in Vorkuta, he was occasionally sent and survived on suicide missions and then returned to Vorkuta, and this was the place where he met Stansfield. He explains that Stansfield was barely alive when he was brought in to Vorkuta, but represented opportunity to The Soviets. Friedrich Steiner, a former Nazi Scientist liberated by Reznov's comrades, apparently attempted to brainwash Stansfield. However, the experiment went horribly wrong, instead of producing a friend, Stansfield was turned into a Madman obsessed with carnage, killing Steiner. Eventually, The Vorkuta Prisoners rebelled against the guards, Stansfield among them. Reznov realized that to Stansfield, the killing wasn't the means to an end, but the point, he reveled in it and craved it. Following his escape, Reznov and Stansfiedl went different directions, and it was the last he saw of him, but wan't the last he heard of him, for decades, he had heard rumors of Stansfield recruiting the most sadistic and cruel soldiers to his cause by forming The Dark Covenant.

Price replies that Reznov doesn't know where he is, to which he responds that he doesn't want to, feeling he should never have survived Siberia or Vorkuta, He's a mad dog that needs to be put down. Ghost then informs Price, Shepherd and Reznov that they don't have a lead on Stansfield, they do have a lead on The Dark Covenant. Ghost's lead is referring to Edouard, stating that he must go alone as it's between him and Edouard. As he's no longer affiliated with The Five Knights and The Dark Covenant and he's a Knight without a Lord to serve. In The Abandoned Castle, Templar is seen wielding and reforging his damaged helmet. As he puts on his repaired helmet, he notes that Ghost found him again and states that his footsteps are light as he thinks, Ghost replies it wasn't hard to find him, noting he left quite a trail of dead bodies. Edouard states that, since The Dark Covenant have gone to ground, he went on a hunt for information in The Criminal Underground. He also mentions that he cannot be blamed if said criminals were not willing to talk without any sort of persuasion. Templar then asks Ghost why is he here, and Ghost tells him that he's after his daughter, Sophia Couteau and Ghost himself is after Stansfield and they share a common enemy while he has a score to settle. Templar agrees, and he whips around to throw a knife at Ghost.

After a short fight, Templar tells Ghost about his backstory about himself and joined in the French Army at 17, ambitious, aggressive and young, his commanding officer Dame while she was discharged, countless battles, which drove his teammates to see him sadistic and insane soldier. After Dame was recruited into The Dark Covenant, where he felt at home, Stansfield was like a father to Templar and he spilled much blood for them. He tells him about a peaceful life for his daughter, the one that he never had. He then promises to find her, but Ghost intervenes, grasping his hand, saying that they will both find her together, and Templar finally said they will hunt down The Dark Covenant.

Ghost and Templar begin to hunt down The Dark Covenant members, their first target is Witch Doctor, who's on board on a ship. after they deploy their parachutes and shot the guards, and knocked him down, Templar asks Witch Doctor that he likes surgery with his knife, Witch Doctor's fate is unknown or deceased. Their second target they ambush is Kryptis, who dodges an incoming Ghost who misses with his pistol, and drives towards Templar. Kryptis angrily calls Templar a traitor as he attempts to gun him down with a KAP-40, and Templar retaliates with a wave of knives. He manages to spin out Kryptis' motorcycle and apprehends him. Kryptis insists that he won't betray The Dark Covenant, But Templar tells him that he will. Their third target is Dark Shepherd, who's on a hovercraft in the sea.

Despite his guard telling him that no one is following them, Dark Shepherd doubts it and when he discovers the duo making their way up the duo throws the guards off the hovercraft. Ghost attempts to apprehend Dark Shepherd, But he holds him on gunpoint, When he asks where Templar is, he responds by putting his knife to Dark Shepherd's throat. Dark Shepherd states that he'll talk, Templar answers in the affirmative. The last target is Artery, who's interrogating a man in the hotel room. Ghost interrupts Artery, stating he and Edouard would have a word with her. Artery attempts to escape but she is caught by Templar by foot dangling off the window ledge. She attempts to convince Edouard to rejoin them, telling him that Ghost is just using him and will backstab once he's done. But Edouard disapproves and instead tells her that he's going to take his chances, he gives her a choice to either talk or take her chances as well, Artery tells Edouard and Ghost the location of Stansfield is 584S in Alaska. Edouard then thanks her before he lets go of her foot, dropping her to her supposed death. Ghost then asks if it is really necessary to drop her, to which Edouard replies that She'll live, but even she didn't he'd have done a favor for the world.

Later on, the duo preparing on a mission to Alaska, on board a plane. Edouard reminds Ghost that it is a one way mission and that they may not make it. But if they do, they'll have an exit plan, Edouard has contacted an old friend that to help with that. Ghost replies that Edouard has friends, Edouard replies that the old friend is Nikto, where he will exfil after they succeed the mission. Ghost then informs Edouard that he has brought backup as well, the back ip of Soap, Alex and Sliver. The Pilot tells them if they're ready for takeoff, Edouard replies that they have one person coming, Vagr Modir and her pet wolf. Edouard tells her she's right on time, to which she replies that she wouldn't miss all the fun as he killed her employer Rorke. Soap and Alex feel uneasy about having Modir with them, which she takes notice of and asks them if they had hard feelings, to which Soap replies that they won't have any so long as her wolf does not attack them again.

The plane is in the midair. Sliver is seen sitting down with an arrow in her hand, Vagr Modir is sleeping with her pet wolf, Soap and Alex are playing card games. Edouard calls Simon's name and gives him back the mask he took from him in Siberia. Upon receiving the mask, Simon claims he forgot about it and that one act of kindness isn't enough to erase all of Edouard's sins. Edouard agrees, and tells Simon to promise him that if anything happens to Edouard, Simon will take care of his daughter, Sophia, with Simon responding "Okay."

As the plane touches down in Alaska, Ghost and Templar make a final agreement on their deal by retrieving both Sophia and The DSM. While the bay doors open when Ghost, Templar, Soap, Alex, Sliver and Vagr Modir and her pet wolf get out, Firebreak and The Dark Covenant Operatives arrive to ambush the group. Firebreak uses his purifier to torch the area surrounding the plane, separating the group. As Ghost and Templar flee the scene to continue the mission, The remaining passengers begin to hold off The Dark Covenant. After a bit of fighting, Alex gets his leg severed by Firebreak's D13 Sector, and Vagr Modir drags him to safety while Soap telling her not to let Alex die. Vagr Modir tells Alex to hold it steady while her pet wolf attacks Firebreak. Ghost and Templar infiltrate the Alaskan Facility, with Ghost telling him to get the DSM while rescuing her daughter Sophia, Templar knew the deal, They split up, with Templar slicing through multiple Dark Covenant Operatives with his sword while Ghost guns them down. Templar finds and reunites with his daughter, Sophia, while Ghost finds and confronts Stansfield in his office. Stansfield says that he wanted to see the new him, Ghost replies that he's nothing like Stansfield.

Stansfield says that his new self claiming that Ghost enjoys the thrill of the battle, singing in his blood, and that Ghost should've been part of what he and Adler built. Ghost tells him that after today, The Five Knights will be dead, and so will The Dark Covenant, and Stansfield himself. Templar, after transferring some data into his DSM and retrieves it, while carrying Sophia away while she closes her eyes, by killing some Dark Covenant Operatives. Meanwhile, Ghost fights Stansfield in a vicious brawl, eventually, Ghost kills Stansfield by gouging his eyes and snapping his neck. Meanwhile, Templar protects Sophia while killing The remnants of The Dark Covenants Operatives, he calms her by saying that they able to get back a normal life by going back to Paris, and as he begins to slaughter The Dark Covenant Guards, makes his way through the facility, he regrets having pulled Sophia into such a dangerous life, and he notes "I am death, and that is all I will ever be." but he believes Sophia could succeed in having a normal life of her own. As Templar and Sophia prepare to exfil with Nikto with his chopper, he spots Vagr Modir pined to the ground by a Dark Covenant Operative while her pet wolf was killed or not, and as he rushes to help, Nike asks Templar what he's doing.

Templar replies "For once, the right thing." as he pulls the soldier off of Vagr, he pulls her up while telling her to provide cover fire and hang in there. Just then, Ghost and reinforcements arrive to finish off the remaining Dark Covenant Operatives. With Templar and Vagr Modir surprised that Ghost killed Stansfield, Ghost approves. Ghost asks if they obtained the DSM, and Templar affirms that he did. Later, Ghost, forced by the orders of General Shepherd, pulls a pistol on Vagr, killing her, and as Templar panics, he himself shot in the helmet by Ghost, telling that it is the end. General Shepherd shows up to Ghost, Sophia watches and saw Templar getting shot, Shepherd's soldiers do the loose ends by firing on Nikto in the chopper, while his chopper torn apart by machine gun fire and Sophia escapes the gunfire. Ghost retrieves the DSM and hands it to Shepherd, and praises him for his good job. As the group leaves, Ghost remarks that Templar was right, there's nothing there but Ghosts. Sophia, revealed to have survived, desperately runs to Templar, and she encourages him to get up, reminding him that her a life in Paris, the two begin to make their way across the ice. Later, Templar slips and falls, As Sophia attempts to get Templar back up, he tells Sophia to be better than him, and that he will love her always, presumably "passing away" in her arms.

In Lisbon, Portugal, Gaz joined the UAC, as part of Task Force 141. Price, Ghost, Gaz, Charly and Alex dispatched to take down a squad of terrorists led by Nikto (who survived the ambush in Alaska), while holding hostages while ranting about the powers of the world with citizens and his group stands for the common people, Foxtrot notes that Ghost with Task Force 141 is arriving. Price briefs them while identifying Nikto, Ghost recognizes him, saying that he and Nikto worked together to take down The Five Knights Network. Price notes that he did this after he presumably killed Templar, But Ghost insists he did what he had to do and defended it was the right thing. After confirming this won't be a problem, Price then assigns tasks to the crew, Alex, Charly and Gaz operate as one unit, while he and Ghost operate as another. As they start their mission, Alex, Charly and Gaz discuss about working more than Ghost and not trusting him and paying for it, Alex then comments that Ghost did what he had to do. Price and Ghost rappel down in the skylight, while Charly, Gaz and Alex breach in the garage.

After eliminating most of Nikto's Mercenaries, the group secured their locations, but founded no sign of the hostages, nor Nikto, which they find concerning. In the garage, Alex's group founded barrels of explosives in an elevator, revealing it to be an ambush, so they get clear. In the atrium, Ghost wonders if Nikto knew he was coming, But Price tells him that not everything is about him. Just then, Ghost and Price are attacked by Cipher. Price attempts to help Ghost, but he tells him to get out of there and find Nikto instead. Despite Price's concerns, Ghost insists for Price to find Nikto. Price obliges, but calms a bloody idiot. While Ghost continues to duel Cipher, Price makes his way outside, where Alex and his unit ask about Ghost. Just then, the building explodes, horrifying the operators. However, they suddenly spot Ghost emerging from the smoke, with Cipher on his shoulders, unconscious. Ghost says that he knows who Cipher is and that he should be dead. Meanwhile up on a rooftop, Foxtrot spies Ghost on her rifle scope, but is alarm and shocked when she sees Cipher as well.

The UAC's Lisbon mission goes awry as there are many casualties and many wounded. The unconscious Cipher is then transported to a hospital. Ghost reveals he knew Cipher, but doesn't what he is anymore. Price wonders if there are any other surprises in store. Unknown to them, Foxtrot is telling them on a bike. While, Price, Gaz, Charly and Alex among with the doctors tend to Cipher in the hospital, Ghost realizes that they can't let Cipher escape, and there's probably something going on that they can't see. Gaz agrees, noting that there has been a dozen bombings besides the one in Lisbon, and that a group called The People's Covenant is taking credit for them. Believing Cipher is the key, Ghost decides that he is needed alive, and coorperative. Suddenly, Suited Agents of The UAC, arrive to collect the rogue asset, Cipher. Ghost doesn't agree to this, but before they can make another move, Cipher abruptly appears, holding a doctor at knifepoint. The agent orders his colleagues to secure Cipher, But he fends them off. He then enters a standoff with Ghost, with Ghost asking if he remembers him. Before Cipher can reply, Price strikes and hits him a fire extinguisher. Foxtrot, disguised as a nurse administers a sedative to Cipher, promising to fix this. The agents load the unconscious Cipher onto a gurney and take him away. Ghost decides to let them take him, but insists that they come along with them.

In Morocco, Price, Ghost and Gaz accompany Agent Miller to Morocco, while Cipher is planned to be delivered to a black site in the Figuig Desert, upon arrival, Miller reminds Price that he is only allowed to tag along because of courtesy, and that his group will not be riding with them. Price expresses concern as Alex and Charly have be assigned to find Nikto in Miami, Florida, his concerns are unneeded however, as Farah and Roach are there to give them a ride. Price is happy to reunite with Roach despite not having Alex and Charly on their mission. Roach then briefs the group about recent developments, that Cipher is one of the cybernetically enhanced warfighters conducting worldwide strikes at someone's behest. Farah also lets in about the local situation, insinuating that it can be traced back to the French Colonial Rule, But is interrupted by Roach before she can finish. While en route to the black site while escorted in the convoy, Phantom takes aim and fires at the convoy, but Foxtrot intervenes, causes him to miss the shot and hit the rocks nearby instead of the convoy. Rocks tumble down the convoy's path and are forced to a halt, as the agents driving the vehicle report of being attacked by unknown forces, Agent Miller and the second agent are killed by Spectre. Price then assigns Gaz, Ghost, Farah and Roach to different tasks, they accept the different tasks. Foxtrot and Phantom engage in a battle after some banter, and the latter one gets thrown off the hill before being subdued by Ghost. Meanwhile, Price and Spectre engage in Close Quarters Combat, with the latter getting almost killed, Roach intervenes by focuses fire on Spectre, causing him to run away. As they return to the Convoy, Gaz, Ghost and Farah return with Foxtrot, and Phantom in tow. It is shown that both Price and Foxtrot knew each other from before. After Foxtrot greets them, Price asks her what she's doing there and learns and revealed that Cipher is actually her brother.

As the team exfiltrate via chopper, Price tells Foxtrot that he doesn't care about her relationship with Cipher and asks her again how did she end up there. Foxtrot reveals that she and Cipher were born in a military family to a strict father, and used to train together since childhood. However, their father was also abusive at times, and one day she had enough, and left home. Some time later, Foxtrot heard that Cipher had gone missing, and started looking for him. Foxtrot notes that Cipher was on a UAC op the time he went missing, and that during her search she found a photo of him on a human trafficker's phone. Cipher was apparently being sold alongside serval others, and Foxtrot spent a month uncovering who the buyers were. While doing so, she kept on stumbling on a mysterious name, Ortelius. Price questions why would some black market grunts want to buy Cipher, and Foxtrot replies that she found out when she went to Congo.

She was with Denise "Rampage" Michaels in the Congo Basin, and together they infiltrated a military base belonging to The People's Covenant and Ortelius, eventually upon a field hospital and in the jungle and an unknown doctor. Upon interrogating the doctor after eliminating the guards, Foxtrot discovers that Ortelius is experimenting on soldiers with black box military hardware such as brain implants and cybernetics, while also disposing of failed subjects. Having obtained the data they needed, They rig the place to blow. Just as the alarm is sounded, the pair make their escape, with Prophet and Krueger in pursuit. Foxtrot and Rampage head in different directions for their escape, and Foxtrot notes that was the last time she ever saw Rampage. Krueger asks whether to kill or capture the women, and Prophet instructs and orders him to capture them. Foxtrot ends up at a waterfall, and is tackled by Krueger, causing both to fall into the waterfall. However, since Foxtrot knew that Krueger wanted to capture her, and she intended to kill him, she defeats him and presumably kills him by leaving him to drown.

Price asks why didn't Foxtrot just come to him for this matter, she notes that Ortelius has contacts inside every government agency she can name but doesn't know who is or isn't compromised. She further adds that she has seen many documents relating to Ortelius, that several terrorists, paramilitaries and dictators pay for Ortelius' services, but not The People's Covenant. Price believes The People's Covenant works for Ortelius, which Foxtrot affirms that they're Ortelius, or part of it, leaving one question, which is who does Ortelius works for. Before their question can be answered, They are notified of three unidentified aircraft headed in their direction. Price replies to Foxtrot while to find out, Three enemy fighter planes in the skies, one of the aircraft is piloted by Nikto and he is given orders to kill the UAC team.

In the skies above Morocco, Nikto engages in a dogfight with Captain Price's team. Suddenly, They scramble to defend themselves, the escorting chopper is shot down, Although Price manages to fend for himself. He grabs a FHJ launcher and shoots down one of the enemy planes, but soon realizes he doesn't stand a chance and orders Foxtrot to take Cipher and prepare to jump. As they jump, Nikto shoots down their plane, but all three of them tumble and fall to the ground without serious issues, and Nikto confirms that his target is down.

In Eastern Morocco, Gaz and Alex are dispatched on a rescue mission for Captain Price after he was shot down in the desert by Nikto. During the firefight with The People's Covenant Operatives, Alex requests for backup, but is denied, he is instead ordered to fall back the extraction site and await the medevac team. Despite Alex protesting that Foxtrot and Cipher are M.I.A. and that he can't leave them, he is denied backup. Suddenly, Sparrowhawk appears and attacks both sides. But before she can dispatch Alex and Gaz, she is taken out by Reinforcements. The pair are then instructed to proceed to their target. Upon arriving to the site, to their stop, Alex and Gaz spot multiple dead bodies, the see one operative still coughing says that Cipher had found them before they did him.

At the Tel Aviv Base in Israel, UAC Agents brief Alex and Gaz along with new operatives, Tempest and Keegan Russ, about Cipher and Foxtrot. Cipher had apparently slipped through cordons by both The UAC and The People's Covenant in Morocco and is still at large, while his sister Foxtrot, real name Denise McDaniels, a former lieutenant for the UAC, has been charged as an accessory and considered a terrorist sympathizer, and that apprehension or termination of Cipher is now the UAC's top priority. Alex, Gaz and Tempest are disapproved and they don't agree with this, and Alex asks for evidence regarding the matter. He is told that Foxtrot had resigned from her commission and in the search of her brother, She committed many criminal acts, and once she made contact with Cipher, she went radio silent and is thought to be helping him evade justice, until new intelligence comes to light that refutes this, the siblings are to be deemed enemy combatants.

Gaz feels like their top priority of apprehending or terminating Cipher feels like a massive overreaction, while Alex believes that somebody may be terrified of Cipher and Foxtrot being allowed to roam freely. After the briefing concludes, Tempest and Keegan further discuss the matter with Gaz and Alex, with Tempest stating that the idea that Foxtrot would've defected to The People's Covenant is laughable, as she knows her personally. Additionally, Keegan mentions that 20 of The People's Covenant sites and 2 of The People's Covenant sites the intelligence has sent them to investigate have been inactive for over a year, he knows this because he helped take one of them out. Alex believes that Cipher may have sensitive information and since Foxtrot is with him, she is considered to have that same information as well. He deduces that someone is afraid of what they know, and that someone is mostly likely planning to kill them, so they must get to Foxtrot and Cipher first, before the someone can.

After Cipher goes undercover as a Atlas Operative while Foxtrot pretends to be a patient and later rescuing her sister Foxtrot after dispatching four Atlas PMCs and dispatching Dark Shepherd with his gun in New Vision City, After the Cat and Mouse Drama, Cipher later makes a public broadcast from within New Vision City, exposing Atlas Corporation as the secret benefactor behind The People's Covenant, Atlas Corporation had been funneling resources to The People's Covenant through a renegade organization known as Ortelius, which has ties to a human trafficking ring, and that they had been using members of The People's Covenant as guinea pigs for their experiments, including cybernetic and medical augumentations, via prototype technology and trafficking networks while Ether and The Director discuss about Atlas working with Ortelius and The People's Covenant while the coup and The Betrayal. Back in the Tel Aviv Base in Israel, Tempest, Keegan and Wyatt "Bulldozer" Jones watch Cipher's Broadcast, and think about their next move.

Keegan informs them that their intelligence division has designated Foxtrot and Cipher top priority and their mandate is clear, they have to go to New Vision City and take Cipher and Foxtrot into custody before somebody else does. Bulldozer wonders what will they do if Atlas Corporation refuses to hand them over, to which Keegan replies that they will have to make them hand them over. After The Director, Samael and Atlas reveals their true colours to Ether during the coup, The UAC transport aircraft soon flies into the airspace 50kn from New Vision City. The New Vision City Air Traffic Control informs the UAC that they are entering restricted airspace and orders them to turn back or be fired upon. Alex tells New Vision CIty's Air Control that the UAC's Operation has the authorization to apprehend Foxtrot and Cipher, and that any attempt to interfere with their operation is a violation of international law. However, the controller simply repeats the message from before, revealing it to be automated, which frustrates and agitates Keegan. Bulldozer wonders how they will even find the siblings in the city, and whether or not Atlas Corporation has them already, with Tempest noting that would be something Atlas would be bragging about.

Keegan says that Foxtrot used her fugitive status to give the UAC legal cause to fly in and nab them, and believes she will make contact once she spots them, though Tempest is angsty about it. Later, multiple explosions go off in New Vision City, thanks to Makarov, Sophia (Who went as an Undercover Operative infiltrating Makarov's Crew) and Freya "Wraith" Helvig, which horrifies The UAC Crew and they were in disapproval.

At the same time, Atlas Corporation, believing The UAC is attacking them, launches the Skycarrier. The UAC planes are immediately fired upon by the Sky Carrier. Keegan asks why no one is telling Atlas that The UAC isn't the one attacking them, but his pilot tells him that there's interference on all frequencies, so Atlas can't hear them and The UAC can't call for backup either. The UAC soon comes under fire from The Skycarrier, and are forced to retreat. On the top of the Medical Center in New Vision City, Cipher and Foxtrot discuss about the Atlas' Board taking on The UAC, while using a flare to light, to signal to the sky, hoping for The UAC to notice them. Meanwhile, a fleet of Reapers deployed onto the battlefield, and they spot the flare that Cipher and Foxtrot had sent out, after a short conversation, Cipher and Foxtrot engage in a firefight with The Reaper Army, forcing them to fend them off. However, The UAC arrives in time to shoot them all down, and descends to pick up Foxtrot and Cipher. Foxtrot tells The UAC that they're too late, and Keegan replies that traffic was a pain in the ass. He also comments that she kicked quite the hornet's nest, and she replies that there is never a dull moment when she's around. They then set their sights on the Skycarrier, wondering how they will get free of the city while it is still operational. Just then, Tempest informs her crew that more Reaper Army Drones are incoming. As Keegan orders his crew to get to the transport, a very bright light illuminates the background, forcing everyone to shield their eyes from it, revealed to have emanated from an orbital strike on The Skycarrier. The UAC Plane soon departs, while The Skycarrier crashes into New Vision City.

Six months later after the New Vision City incident, The UAC is now defunct, with its members having disbanded. Alex has been honorably discharged from the organization, while the rest have fallen off the radar. Alias and Ether have been attempting to track them down with success. Unknown to anyone, except Alias, Spectre is actively hunting The UAC Members, ambushing Alex at his home, and later Ether's group at the vicinity of The Club. It is known that Mace, Rosa, Gaz, Ghost, Price, Soap, Sliver, Roach, Charly, Otter, Golem, Demir, Reznov, Ghosts, and the other members survived at the events. Ghost later apologized to Sophia from abandoning her at Alaska, Templar and Vagr Modir's wolf Survived the snow and later rescues Sophia from Stitch and his men, Wraith and Templar's Shadow, and later preparing to stop The Tontine. The Phantom Corps leaded by Frank Woods prepare to Stop Atlas and The Iron Will and bringing back The UAC. Tempest is being used by Atlas and The Tontine. General Shepherd is revealed as The Leader of The Tontine, President And CEO of The Atlas Corporation, Tempest betrays Richtofen, Lazarus, Atlas and The Tontine to rescue David Mason to the mainland and gets captured by Richtofen, Atlas and The Tontine. Demir, Killgore, Zoe and Ghost prepare to go to France. Templar, Sophia, Alice, Dame and a captured Stitch arrived at The Pyrenees Mountains, The Monastère Couteaux Du Saint-Gidèon, The French Alps, France to get The Armor of Gideon with the help of The Triumvirate and The Monastery Soldiers. Ghost and Templar had a temporary fight and made a truce with each other and Sophia and later Ghost, Templar, Sophia, Zoe, Killgore and Demir and The Triumvirate fight against The Atlas Tontine during the attack on the monastery. Bulldozer is now the Security Chief of The LST (La Sous Terre) in Paris, France with Keegan and Sliver greeting The Phantom Corps and later David Mason regrouped with The Phantom Corps.
