The United Nations (国連 Kokuren?) are an organization in the Tekken series based on their real world counterparts. They are an intergovernmental organization that aims to maintain international peace and security. They have an important role in the Tekken games, opposing the military expansion of the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation, and conducting their own observations and missions.

The UN have their own independent forces, founded by Victor Chevalier. He also founded and trained the Raven Unit, a ninja class of secret agents, who operate under the codename 'Raven'. Known playable members are Raven and his superiors, Master Raven and Victor Chevalier.

Story[]

Tekken 4[]

The UN were spying on the Mishima Zaibatsu during the events of the fourth King of Iron Fist Tournament, allowing their agent, Raven, to witness the attack by Jacks on Hon-Maru. Raven witnessed Kazuya Mishima fleeing the scene and the subsequent explosion that seemingly killed Heihachi Mishima.

Tekken 5[]

During the events of Tekken 5, the UN dispatched Raven to infiltrate the fifth King of Iron Fist Tournament, in order to spy on the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation. Raven was beaten by Kazuya until he gave up information he had on G Corporation, who he told Kazuya had betrayed him. On discovering that Heihachi Mishima was still alive, the UN gave orders for him to be eliminated. Before Raven could do so, the UN received new information, and told Raven his new target was Jinpachi Mishima and that he should let Heihachi go. The UN had secret intelligence on Jinpachi, informing Raven that "Mankind will be exterminated if he is fully awakened". They were aware that Jinpachi was Heihachi's father, and the founder of the Mishima Zaibatsu, and even had records stating that Jinpachi had been imprisoned underground for years. They explained that the recent explosion had broken 'the seal', allowing Jinpachi to return.

Canonically, Raven was ordered back to UN headquarters part way through his fight with Heihachi.

Tekken 6[]

The UN had a peacekeeping role in Tekken 6, and were attempting to stop the war the Mishima Zaibatsu started and that G Corporation were escalating. They sent their secret operative, Raven, to observe events, and backed the rebel army, Yggdrasil, who had splintered from the Mishima Zaibatsu and were opposing them. They supplied Yggdrasil with intelligence, and helped them in their battle to attack the Zaibatsu, leading their leader, Lars Alexandersson, to the desert to help defeat the ancient demon, Azazel. Later, a UN spy drone located the body of Jin Kazama, who was wanted by them as an international war criminal. UN troops recovered Jin from the desert.

Tekken 7[]

As UN troops were transporting the body of Jin Kazama by helicopter, Jin awoke and transformed into Devil Jin. His laser caused the helicopter to explode. Later, UN peacekeepers tracked Jin to the Souq. There seems to have been a confrontation first with Hwoarang, who protected Jin, and ended up being partially blinded by a UN grenade, and second with Lars, who succeeded in rescuing Jin from UN custody. Yggdrasil then took Jin to one of their bases, and removing him far beyond UN control.

The UN dispatched a high ranking official, Master Raven, to continue the task of monitoring the war between the Zaibatsu and G Corporation.

Tekken 8[]

With G Corporation now dictating the world order after the Mishima Zaibatsu's defeat, the UN has now decided to sanction the organization. After the tournament preliminaries conclude, the UN come to the realization that Heihachi had been fighting to prevent this new world order and resulting warmongering from coming to fruition, and that Yggdrasil, under Lars's leadership, was also trying to take down G Corporation. Seeing that both groups shared the same enemy and goal, the UN and Yggdrasil joined forces once more.

UN soldiers alongside Yggdrasil forces lead by Victor Chevalier and Lars Alexandersson respectively, launch an assault on the coliseum in Italy where the final matches of Kazuya's tournament are being held. These forces are successful in evacuating most of the participants and the non-participating crowd, but are unable to stop Kazuya from becoming True Devil Kazuya after he absorbs Azazel's power from Zafina, who arrived separately alongside Claudio and Xiaoyu.

As Kazuya launches an assault on Yakushima with the intention of stopping Jin from regaining control of his Devil Gene, UN forces once again unite with Yggdrasil forces to fight the forces of G Corp.

In a good ending, after Jin and Kazuya's final clash, with the world is now freed of G Corporation's tyranny, the UN Peacekeepers are seen lining up behind Victor and Raven above a UN submarine aircraft carrier.
