Biography[]
Early Life[]
“ | Make a better life for himself and his family. Yeah, SetDef changed all that. | „ |
~ Usef Omar in "Operation Burn Water". |
Usef Omar was born on Earth and presumably in the United Kingdom to unnamed parents, and lived there until his father moved them to Titan. Omar's father decided to move him and his family to Saturn's moon to make a better life for them, but this was cut short by the Settlement Defense Front. The SDF invaded Titan and forced the citizens into labor camps, and would kill anyone who refused. Omar and his family managed to escape to an unknown location, but they suffered from the process. As a result of his family's hard times and seeing Titan's citizens being forced into labor camps, Omar developed a personal hatred towards the SDF.
Omar looked up to his father, and decided to join the Marines despite his father being a veteran within the SATO Army. He reached to the rank of Staff Sergeant during his service, and later met a woman named Sarah. The two married and had two children together, a son named Noah and a daughter named Abby. Before the attack on Geneva, Omar was put in charge of a Marine contingent on the Retribution, an Admiral-class space warfare carrier commanded by Captain John Alder.
Infinite Warfare[]
When the SDF attacked Geneva during Fleet Week, Omar helped Special Combat Air Recon operatives Nick Reyes and Nora Salter to enter the Retribution's bridge. Upon learning that Captain Alder died when he crashed the ship into the Olympus Mons, Omar told Reyes that Alder did his duty to save them. He later witnessed Reyes becoming an acting captain of the Retribution, and readied his men to fight against the SDF.
Omar informed his men about the Luna Gateway Port being under siege by the SDF, and told them that they were going to work with SATO to take it back. While preparing for the operation, Omar showed distrust towards E3N "Ethan", but decided to allow E3N on the mission. Omar worked with Reyes, Salter, Ethan, Brooks and Kashima to retake the gateway, and later helped destroy the SDF's warship, the Ares Vallis. After the mission, Omar became more kinder towards Ethan, and personally wanted Ethan to join them on their next mission. In addition, Omar and Reyes become friends, and plan to go to Titan to stop the SDF.
During "Operation Burn Water", Omar and Reyes stealth killed many SDF soldiers, and later destroyed the SDF's Fueling Tower to distract the defense front long enough so Earth could rebuild its fleet. Omar later participated in "Operation Dark Quarry", he was part of the team to rescue miners from Vesta 3, which was shot out of orbit due towards the sun. While waiting for Salter, the team were forced to protect the miners from countless waves of drones. One miner is shot in the back, and Omar goes to help him, but is knocked down by another explosion. Reyes refused to leave Omar behind, but Omar tells Reyes and Salter that the mission comes first, and tells them to leave him behind. Omar was killed on the asteroid with the remaining miners, as Reyes and the others survived.
Legacy[]
“ | Peace for the fallen. | „ |
~ Nora Salter at the end of Infinite Warfare. |
Corporal Brooks was promoted to Sergeant by Reyes, becoming the commander of the SATO Marines to fight against the SDF. Reyes was also successful in his mission, avenging Omar and his fallen allies' death by killing Salen Kotch and destroying the SDF's shipyard. Omar's name was present on the board for those who had died fighting against the SDF, including Reyes, Kashima and others. Omar left a voice message to his family, telling his son that he was the man of house now, and to only use violence if it's necessary.
