Rapunzel pose

Today I will be creating a Pure Good Removal for Rapunzel.

Who is the Hero?

Rapunzel is the main protagonist of Tangled and its follow-up series, Tangled: the Series. She had been abducted and imprisoned in a tower by Mother Gothel for 18 years, before being rescued by Flynn Rider. The series focuses on Rapunzel's quest to become Queen.

Why Doesn't the Hero Qualify?

  • In "Cassandra v. Eugene", she locks Eugene and Cassandra in a jail cell to make them spend time together and get along so their bickering won't bother her. Regardless of how bad their arguments are, there were far better ways to handle the situation than putting them in danger, undermining Selfless and having no corrupting factors.
  • She never makes any attempts to get through to Lady Caine, despite supposedly believing there's good in everyone and knowing of her tragic past, and only a few antagonists in the series get reformed.
  • In "Queen for a Day", she allows her guards to drag a child out into a deadly magical blizzard, never organizes a search party afterwards, and is quick to give up on him, undermining Selfless, Incorruptible, and having no corrupting factors.
  • In "Goodbye and Goodwill", she is quick to get envious of the people of Vardaros preferring Cassandra and her ideas, and attempts to sabotage her. Though she does apologize, how badly she takes the attention her own best friend gets undermines Incorruptible and having no corrupting qualities.
  • In "Keeper of the Spire", she is overly rude towards Calliope at first. Though this is very understandable considering Calliope's insufferable and inconsiderate attitude, the fact that she refuses to even tolerate her and gives in to her friends' sentiments undermines Incorruptible and Selfless.
  • Near the end of the second season, she is unwilling to take the blame for the damage done to Cassandra's arm, undermining Selfless and having no corrupting factors.
  • In "No Time Like the Past", she reacts badly to the revelation that Eugene is far more willing to give up on Cassandra than her, undermining Selfless and having no corrupting factors.
  • In "Be Very Afraid", she reveals that she is more afraid of losing Cassandra as a friend forever than Corona being destroyed by Cassandra, undermining Selfless.

Final Verdict

I say cut.
