What's the Work[]
The Dark Knight Trilogy or the Nolanverse is a series of critically acclaimed superhero films. The films follow Batman fighting for Gotham's protection with his allies. One of these allies is our topic is our candidate.
Who is He/What has he done[]
James Gordon is a supporting character in all 3 films. He is the lieutenant turned commissioner of the Gotham Police Department. His heroic acts include: In Batman Begins, he comforted a distraught Bruce when his parents were killed. Later in the film, when everyone doubted Batman, James was one of the only ones who thought Batman genuinely cared about the city. He also (remorsefully) went against the police when they were pursuing Batman, knowing that they were chasing a hero. In The Dark Knight, he faked his own death to save his family from the Joker. He also apologized to Harvey for being unable to save Rachel Dawes from the Joker and was genuinely heartbroken when Harvey turned evil. Later, he hated the idea of pinning Batman, Gotham's hero, as a murderer, but Batman and Gordon knew they had to. In Rises, James still felt remorse for what happened at the end of the Dark Knight, and he even planned on telling the truth. but he knew Batman wouldn't like that and kept the truth hidden.
Finally, he's one of the very few cops that didn't actually corrupt himself, and he stayed pure through the trilogy.
Corrupting Factors[]
a minor thing, when called the Joker a b-word, but it's justified considering the crimes he committed, and it's far too nitpicky to keep him from being PG.
Admirable Standard[]
Yes. he does heroics that are on par with Batman and has none of the corrupting factors of Batman and Rachel.
